Al,
Is there a way to play SAT in windowed mode? By the way, I bought it last night. It is addicting. Overwhelming at first because of the unusual ratings, but I kind of like them better than traditional. Also how do you put in the custom fields and logos? I've unzipped them to their proper folders.

Glad you are enjoying it!!

No, there is no support for windowed mode. In the last 3 minutes of each half, if you have timeouts remaining, you will be prompted if you want to call a timeout at the end of the play, and the game will tell you approximately how much time will run off the clock if you elect NOT to call a timeout.

Thanks.

Is there a better way to understand all the junk (numbers, ratings, abbreviations) on the game screen than the ? on the screen.  It's hard to find what all the abbreviations mean.  I'm not sure they're all in the ? thing.

Also, does it seem like the AI misses too many XPs?  I've played thru 2 games and the computer opponent is 3 of 7 for XPs.

Wondering if you can compare and contrast with Front OFFICE 07?

SAT is a replay game.  You only play one season.  Yet you have 66 real historical seasons to play with including 2006.  I'm playing as the 79 Cowboys.  The emphasis on the game is in the playcalling and coaching.  There's no financials or anything.  It's definitely not as user-friendly as FOF, but I feel the AI is a lot stronger.  I got bored with FOF2k7 though.  The graphics in the UI for SAT are a lot better.  I wish SAT was around $30 though.  I'm not sure it's worth the $51.32.  But I'm having much more fun with it than with FOF.  You can download the demo for SAT, but I didn't feel it gave you the full experience.  If you do download the demo, download all the graphics files and stuff off of Matt's comcast page to make the game look nicer.

To clarify:  The interface for calling plays in SAT is much easier, and much, much better than FOF2007.

But FOF is easier to navigate to who's injured and league news.  There's no email in SAT.

SAT is a Diamond-Mind-Baseball equivalent.
FOF'07 is a PureSim Baseball equivalent.

that's a great analogy and it looks like a great game (I still can't decide on the $50 worth of it) --- I just tried the demo on my laptop and the screen is sort of truncated --- I get the players list and then only about 30 yards of the field ---  ANY HELP ?  I tried different display video settings but to no avail...

Nope, it's all about the help files (?) in SAT. However, if you have a specific question, just post your message here:

http://forums.delphiforums.com/SATsupport/messages

And you will have an answer from the games designer (Wayne) very quickly. The support for this game is amazing.

Nope, it all really depends on the ratings of the kicker. If they missed a lot of XP's in real life, then they are likely to do it in SAT too. Benirschke was erratic for me all year with XP's. He was 55/61 (90%) in real life, so he basically has a 1/10 chance to miss every time he goes for an XP attempt in that 1981 season. Ugh...

I bet you get a solution from the programmer, Richard, very quickly. He does live in China right now, so the timezone thing may come into affect...
