I have finally run across my first real funny in this game.

I have a TF one hex south of Brisbane that is "stuck". It has been here several turns.

As you can see from the screen shot shown below, I think the game thinks the TF is south of here. This screen shot was take during the set TF designation command.

I've also run into the "stuck in the hex" TF.  Since I'm new I thought it was something I did wrong.  I found I have to give the TF another destination, then change to the original after one turn.  This has messed up some invasions.  Is this a bug?

I honestly do not know.

Possibly a "mixed" mod problem??

Hi, dpstafford. No, this is a stock map with only OOB changes.

It's happened to me with CHS 158 (AB extended map).  I've made no changes.

I had it happen in stock, large tanker taskforce, before I noticed it they were almost out of fuel, I just reset the destination to another port, and off they went. Not sure the cause, and it was just a couple of weeks ago so current version.

High Command figured the convoy broke into beverages a little early and never wanted to reach port. hic!

I might have something similar with a jap art unit in China. I can't get it to advance because it thinks it is in a hex with an enemy unit, which it isn't. So maybe it thinks eiether the art unit is in the wrong place or one the the allied lcu's is in the wrong hex.

P.s. We are playing stock scenario 15

Let me guess you recently won a combat in the hex and are now trying to move a unit to a hex containing enemy units...

Try assigning a destination that is a friendly controlled base free of enemy units, then change the destination to where you want to go.

This happened to me a while back with a couple of RN TFs in the Indian Ocean, they went to a certain hex and stopped there. I tried for a couple of turns to send them to their original destination but nothing happened. IIRC, I finally gave orders to one to return to Trincomalee and the other orders to move south a couple of hexes and they finally moved. After that I was able to re-route them to their origianal destination. I haven't any similar problems since.

Aah, you've been there before then

Here is a link to another thread discussing the problem. I seem to remember Amiral Laurent explained the mechanics of the problem...

Yes...and my workaround does not work...the best advice now is to find a unit that can be ordered to the hex and set the ones that cannot to follow.

As far as the TF issue...what is the damage level of the ships in the TF? I have had a number of Transport TFs hang...however thay also contained damaged ships. Once I removed ships with damage ( SYS in the 20's) the main body carried on...

I'm interested in getting a save related to the TF movement issue.

Also interested in any data you have on how this situation developed.

My email is jwilkerson@everestkc.net If PBEM, then will need both PWs ... players can send PWs to me separately.

Thx.

Joe W.

It has happened to me twice: once in stock (1.8) with an invasion TF three hexes away from Cayagen (not sure of the spelling)-no damage and plenty of fuel- and lately in CHS 2.08 157 (1.804) another invasion 5 hexes from Brunei. I'll send a save if it happens again.

I keep all that data, jwilkerson. Let me go thru my save data and I can send you a couple of saves. As I said this has been going on for several turns. Do you need my password? Do you need Terminus' password? If I do not hear from you here I will send you an email. Thank you for your time.

Bruce

Bruce,

Never mind, turns out you're playing this game with Terminus one of our beta testers and I had forgotten you were his opponent. So this was a problem with the development version you guys are testing. I've issued Terminus a new version correcting the issue. It was some test code I'd inadvertantly added just before releasing the last beta version ...

Joe

Joe;
Thank you. If you need anything from me let me know. I will provide it, happily. I will most likely hear from Terminus tomorrow. Again, thanks.

Bruce
