Wow, darn lot of nice Cross of Iron Manuals (via the download version). I count 13 manuals and a hefty readme doc too. The Commander's Combat Pack is full of nice shortcut keys and mouse moves. Who was in charge of putting the manuals together? Please post. You did or your team did quality work here. Chocked full of more goodies.

With special thanks to misfit (for the content of the Grand Campaign document). I am glad you like them, as they are quite striking , so I wasn't sure how they would be received. Makes all that effort worthwhile. Thank you.

The CoI Manula was done by Matrix, and a damn fine job they did I reckon!

Will _ALL_ of the documets referred to by KG_Absolute be included in the manual (or manuals?) in the "Physical Shipment" version when it is released?

Or will the Physical Product simply have 1 basic (and hopefully comprehensive) manual and then the CD with a bunch of smaller PDFs highlighting certain aspects of the game (assuming that is what KG_Absolute is referring to)?

One reason I'm asking is that both TOAW and Battlefront haver "problematic" e-documentation issues according to many posters --- notably "undocumented" features and confusing organization and presentation. I own Battles in Normandy, Korsun Pocket, Highway to the Reich, and Uncommon Valor, all of which have good or adequate manuals. Notably the original TOAW series had a seemingly exhaustive manual, but failed to explain several essential gameplay issues, e.g. the proper mode for defending artillery.

For now, I'm holding back from purchasing TOAW and BF to see if Matrix or some users post a Player's Guide or something similar to supplement or remedy the Doc issues.

Hopefully other posters will comment on the quality of the manuals for CoI.

The printed manual is the main COI game manual, not all the side manuals.

Interestingly enough, I've seen complaints on the Uncommon Valor manual and praise for the TOAW III manual (which everyone I've spoken to agrees is better than any of the original TOAW manuals). With that said, we are always trying to listen and improve our manuals as much as possible. Ultimately though, the community itself is a great resource as are the generally accessible developers, when it comes to questions that the manual may not answer.

Thank you for the quick reply. Based on my infrequent but lonnng monitoring of the CoI forum(s), I fully anticipate a good product _and_ a well-written manual. And useful follow-up fan/company FAQs and How-To's.

Hmm, Uncommon Valor's docs "worked" for me, but I guess I'm used to Gary Grigsby's games going all the way back to 1984.

As for TOAW III, the reason I cited it were the many posts seeking clarifications and how-to's. I realize many players had simply not RTFM.

Ditto with BF, but the missing pics and such means I'll reserve judgement until I read some feedback after the physical shipment becomes available.

So far so good, as far as feedback for CoI goes.

There's a fair bit not in the TAOW 'FM' even if you do read it. In fairness it had less to start with (having just re-read it, the CC3 manual is excellent), and needs to cover an awful lot more.
