Just curious. I am fairly new to the Matrix forums. Notice that the members have various ranks like Matrix Recruit or Matrix Legion of Merit. How does this ranking get determined? Is it based on the number of posts that someone submits or time as a member or something else?

Thanks. That's what I thought, but I couldn't find anything that explained it. Not that I looked that hard though. Figured someone would know.

You are wrong, we have a jury of 10 people from all over the country here reading through all the posts and deciding by anonymous vote if the forum members will receive his honorable upgrade to the next level.

At this point this table is rather obsolete. I'd add

5001->7500 = Matrix Godhood
7501 -> 10000 = Matrix Spammer
10001 -> 12500 = Matrix Super Spammer
12501 -> 15000 = Matrix UberSpammer
15001 -> 17500 = Matrix Spam Factory
17501 -> 20000 = Matrix Terminus

That can't be right...otherwise ravinhood would still be trying to crack Matrix Recruit!!

Another 118 to go and I'm in the "Legion of Honor" - just curious : what are the perks ?

Seriously : who cares about post counts ? I had to go back to my previous post to check on the number as I had no clue. I guess the same holds true for most regulars.

Easiest way to know your current post count is to post a new one and have a look. Of course, your current post count has been incremented and you have to substract one or not, depending if you wanted the previous current post count or the actual current post count. Sound confusing ? That's the goal.

[edit: and you can be a better smart ass and go and edit your post writing : my previous current post count was 826]

So lemme see if I get this - If I post *another* non-sequitur post in here my post count goes up, the average quality (ahum) of my posts goes down, and I've contributed yet again slightly to the Heath Death of the Universe according to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.

Yup, sounds like something I'd like to do

[ If Marc's "10 panel guys giving points" quip were true I'd be at -50000 points and bear the title of Matrix Weenie so I know he's just joking ]

<edit>
Whee - it works - my post count went up

Doesn't mean squat.

All you have to do is spam the forum, like certain members do, to build up ranking.

Message content is more important than ranking.
Just my opinion.

I can't think of anyone who would do that. Otherwise they'd end up with something like 18000+ posts.
