Jap supply is another facet of the game. You can be a brilliant battlefield commander and lose the game because you cant understand how to get the raw resources to your factories, and the supplies / fuel those factories generate back to the front. This is a game in and of itself. This is what I do: I break the factory areas down into several distinct areas. I figure out how much oil and resources I need in a given area per month, and I send in 1 convoy a month with the required resources / oil. In this manner I only have to think about it once a month. And if I do it at the same time every month (the 1st for me) then dont have to try to remember when the last time I sent ships in. Indo-China / Thailand / Malaya (area 1) These areas (after capturing Malaya and assuming you got the resources reasonably intact) generate enough resources to sustain themselves. They require 330 oil per day (again, assuming all factories are intact) or roughly 9900 oil per month. If you have Burma, this oil will flow in from there (oil centers generate 6 oil per day, so you need 55 intact oil in Burma to be self suffient). Korea / Mancuria (area 2) This area is generally self suffient. It is light on oil for 90 a day, or 2700 a month. Excess oil in Japan or China will flow here. Okhotsk (area 3) I have a feeling this one is often over looked. requires 5 oil a day, or 150 a month. I ship 6000 in right away on turn 1 and dont look at it again. This will be enough oil for over 3 years there. Resources it needs 95 a day or roughly 3000 a month. Formosa (area 4) 250 resources a day (7500 a month) 180 oil a day (5400 a month) China (area 5) China will depend on if you capture any of the Chinese oil centers in the north or not. Assuming the only base you capture in China is Hong Kong, you will need 340 resources a day (1200 a month) which will flow in from Manchuria, and 600 oil a day (18,000 a month) JAPAN (area 6) 8945 resources a day (almost 270,000 a month) 7570 oil per day (a little over 227,000 a month) So to recap by area, this is what you need: Area 1: 1 9000 ton tanker a month less what comes from Burma Area 2: None required direct Area 3: 1 3500 ton AK with resources a month. Area 4: 3 3500 ton AKs and 1 9000 ton tanker a month. Area 5: 2 9000 ton tankers a month Area 6: 39 7000 ton AKs and 15 16,000 ton tankers a month Simple. Getting the supplies and fuel back out of there isnt so simple. Edit: Now keep in mind, if you send excesses into these areas, it will be stockpiled for use if a time comes that you cant make the quota. Supplies/fuel you want to keep track of carefully. Bases under a combined 10 points of airbase and port suffer spoilage if you have too much there. Toboali for example can only hold 32,000 before it starts losing some. And since it generates 900 supply a day, it can sneak up on you if you dont watch it. Palembang can only hold 37,000 fuel before spoilage sets in.
