That thing (the warship) does not look Amercian. Those guns look too close together.

My first guess was Tromp as well.  The turret is definitely not American, and certainly not from the Omaha.  Her turrets were not flat-faced and the guns are too close together.   That said, there is one guy on the deck with a GI type helmet.  I'd say Tromp after American refit.

It is the Tromp.  Found the same picture at http://www.netherlandsnavy.nl/Photo_tromp.htm

According to the caption, the other ship is an American oiler, hence the US personnel in the picture.

Tromp is a nice little ship. There aren't too many ships in her weight class that I'd chose over her.
