You have two points so far Dagooz. I'll post another piece although I doubt it'll help your cause much.

Yes aren't they Kip. I'll split the points on this one 2 points for both Dagooz and Flanker. I have a feeling Flanker knows more than he's letting on and had some free time on his hands...

Sorry about the interval, I'll try to update as often as I have the time. Here's the full photo and I'll see about getting another on the way before I get sucked back to some real life responsibilities.

Ok lets move on to Round 15. It's good to see some healthy competition after Sunburn took an early lead. Here's an opportunity to close the gap for some of you.

With the end of the Cold War many NATO member countries disposed of vessels that were considered excess to requirements or beyond post Cold War economic operating budgets. This vessel is a former NATO member frigate now operating with another navy.

CLUE: Nil

REQUIRED: Class name, country of origin and country of operation in the photo.

BONUS: Nil - answer all three required for 3 points.

INELIGIBLE: Dagooz & Flankerk

Here I am trying to get out of the house and get to work and of course the guy I knew would be taking a ping at this immediately is lurking...

2 out of 3 mate. We're still looking for the country and I have 2 clues left to reveal. Here's clue #2 while off to work I go... (you'll have to wait a few hours if you have a guess at the country)

Well done Steve.

The Convair XFY-1 Pogo VTOL development aircraft.

As a tail sitter it may be more familiar to folks in this attitude

Among its contemporaries were the Lockheed XFV-1

and this wonderful looking aircraft, the SNECMA C450 Coléoptère

Anyway Flanker has won this one, Darren will have to update the ladder when he returns from whence he has gone. I did have another one I was planning to post but haven't been able to find a suitable detailed pic so if anyone else feels like keeping things moving please go right ahead.

Daniel

Sorry guys been busy, away, at work, zero time...

I'll get up to speed and fix the ladder totals and look for something to test people out with.

Thanks to Dan and Taitennek for the coverage.

Guys, I said I'd get back to this and that I'd been tied up with other stuff. I'd like to see this kept civil and not turn into yet another senseless competition between rival "clans". Now if you'd like me to ask Dale to delete the thread that can be accomodated immediately.

Sometimes I will simply be unable to keep this up to date on a minute by minute basis. This week has been a combination of heavy workloads with real job, spending nearly 40 of 48 hours hunting down a bug(s) in the latest release candidate and attempting to keep a steady pace with updating the HUD3. I forgot we had to look over the latest manual for 3.8 and proof read that as well as provide support and attend dev team meetings. I get paid for the real job stuff but the rest like this thread is on a voluntary basis...

I'm tied up with other stuff, turn my back for a little while and something I intended as an educational process is no turning into a surrogate HHQ vs PDB clan war. CEASE & DESIST.

Ignore the current photos I'll post one within 20 mins and we can get back to continuing with what seemed to be a feature of the forum that was attracting some appreciated attention.

Cheers

Darren

Ok sorry about the delay, back to the Official competition.

I'll start off with a ship for this one. I'd like the name of the class, it's type and the name of the country providing the crew.

CLUE: Europe

REQUIRED: Class name, Vessel Type, Operating Country.

BONUS: Nil - answer all three required for 3 points. Points only awarded for 3 correct answers.

INELIGIBLE: VCDH
