A gutsy effort by Scotland. They ran into Ricky Ponting and Glenn McGrath in good form and that can stop any side.

And a tie by Ireland in their first World Cup game! That's a pretty good effort, although they probably should have won in the end after a huge comeback.

That is one of the best things I have ever seen in sport. Sure, half their team is actually Australian but it matters not. Go Ireland!

Goodbye to the Paki's- and India is on the edge.

Inzi has quit as Captain and Feddie is sacked as Vice Captain.

Unless your an Aussie this World Cup is a nightmare.

IT WAS MURDER!!!!
Jamaican police are considering the death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer as murder.

A 2nd autopsy has found he died from manual asphyxiation.

Slightly off topic, but I'm pretty happy about Tasmania thrashing New South Wales by 421 runs to win the Australian First Class cricket final (I still call it the bloody Sheffield Shield. Always will) for the first time ever today.

It is going to be a monster night around Salamanca Place tonight and I intend to be there with bells on.

Go Tassie!

It's certainly turning interesting with Pakistan out and India on the verge of going too... As over 1 bn (yes, billion) fans will probably now switch off the advertising revenues for News Corp International and Disney will plunge.

Apparently some of the promoters are going to go broke due to the massive numbers of cancellations from Indian and Pakistani fans.

Still...on a brighter note...two dangerous teams are out and Australia belted South Africa. You see, it's not all bad.

Actually, it's a pretty reasonable article. The bit about Pakistan throwing the 1999 final is pure balderdash though. They got smashed by Australia fair and square. It's nigh on impossible to deliberately edge balls to the slips and their whole top order was out cheaply to inspired fast bowling which meant they set a low score. This was nonchalantly picked off by the likes of Gilchrist and co. despite some fiery stuff from the Pakistan quicks.

Cheers, Neilster
