I did but I also think Calzaghe would've pounded the guy eventually anyway.

Stopped a little too early, but Manfredo's reaction in the post-bout interview suggested not by much. He freely admitted he was outclassed, and seemed more relieved than angry. Frank Warren was more pissed off than Manfredo was.

Despite the verbal hammering the refereee has taken, I'd still rather see criticism for stopping a fight to early than for stopping it too late.

I thought it was stopped too early...I mean...no-one butno-one knows where that fight was going to go. You can speculate that because Joe is such a good fighter and he was doing well, that the guy would've went down...but that isn't written...after all...Rocky Balboa did it against Apollo Creed.

As Barry McGuigan said...it IS a title fight...

Shouldn't have ended there...the guy was in absolutely no danger in that round.

Did any of you see the Mormack-Bell cruiserweight championship?

Talk about a brutal fight - both guys looked totally gassed and barely able to stand after the first 4 rounds, Both guys got totally rocked several times but stayed on thier feet. It looked like both fighters had won about 6 different times as they had the other out on their feet or almost tumbling backward over the ropes.

Mormack won on a unanimous decision after 12 but Bell looked to be a punch away from a KO in both the 10th and 11th it was amazing either fighter was still on their feet.

Im backing De La Hoya come may 5th. No doubting Mayweathers skill, but hes too cocky for his own good and its going to be great seeing him put on his arse
