I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on buildings and industries that show up on FoF. I think the buildings appear at random in different cities but I'm not sure. I know from playing different games from the same scenario that garrisons will be in different places and at different strengths. Does the same apply to buildings and industry? The only reason I am asking is that Lancaster PA always has two Barracks at the start of the game. I would think that either Washington or Brooklyn NY would have more. Didn't NY supply the most units during the war? Thanks.

Buildings are all "manually" assigned to cities for each scenario, and are therefore fixed (though there are a few differences among the scenarios). The file in question is AcwStartBldgs.txt, but to mod it one would need to know what the number assigned to each building is (see bldg.txt) and the number for each province (see AcwProvinces.txt).

As for why there are the PA barracks, I think that city (Harrisburg, is it?) was chosen because it's not right on the front, and can be used to create containers for either the VA/MD theater or KY/TN -- in other words, it's in a better location than D.C.

Also, FYI in the next revision of the beta update Washington does have three barracks as well.

I think Harrisburg works fine as a depot. I also build barracks in Cinninati and St. Louis.

I was just wondering, thanks for the info. What about in the west? Shouldn't one of those cities have better abilities for building your armies? Thanks again.

PS DC sounds great to me as well because it's the capitol after all

Yep, as of the next update Chicago gets two barracks as well, I believe.
