Not sure if it is even worth reporting...
Anyways, installed new computer (to be honest, not new, but much better than my previous one ;), installed WitP and upgraded directly to 1.804.
However, during combat animations there are some glitches, like black rectangle instead of a japan fighter fire, hex where the combat occurs replaced by a gray square and so on. Looks like the .bmp files are not accessed or like.
I have no problem to play it like this (and I appreciate significant increase of a game speed, so it is good trade off for me ;), but if there is any easy solution...

Most likely that .bmp files were not instaled into right folders. You might want to re-install Comprehensive 1.8.04 patch and make sure path to WitP-folder is right. Also check if those files are present in different folder (in case patch somehow got the folders wrongly).

Funny thing, it was enough just to restart. So, thanks for advice and sorry for raising false alarm ;)
