according to the manual it can be set 'by using the Edit > Set Max Rounds Per Battle item in the Force and Deployment Editor menus'

i looked for it there and i can't find the bloody thing... could someone write where exactly it is?

"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where –" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.

First you must be in "Deployment" mode (as opposed to "Map" mode). Then it is available at the bottom of the "Edit" pulldown.

Alternately, you can still be in "Map" mode, but with the "Force" Editor active, then it is again available at the bottom of the "Edit" pulldown.
