One of my main issues I've had with CS gaming is that after blundering into a minefield and moving on they become invisible again so you can run into them again with another unit. I've found this to be very frustrating when trying to move large amounts of units in a campaign game. Another issue is they seem to be everywhere in your own backfield on a meeting engagement and are not marked. Unit will drive over them when given a move order and they are visible then they dissappear next turn when out of LOS. I would assume they would be marked by the original unit when found so following units can avoid them.

Will this be addressed in the new version? I feel this alone would be a reason to grab the new version as I already have the original version and the 2nd edition that was released as a bundle a few years later. I feel buying a 3rd version would be ok if there were some "tweaks" to this issue.

It will not be included in the new version, but could be added as a patch if Wyatt can figure out how to do adjust it.

Take care and good luck

A minefeild removed does not represent actual removal of the minefeild, it represents that the engineers have made a marked safe path thru it.

To get rid of the minefeild in an area the sized of a hex would take much longer than a turn or even most scenarios.

Other units may get thru with more or less damage but they are not qualified to make or mark a safe path thru the feild. Until the engineers or a mineclearing tank pass thru and "remove" it the feild in that area is dangerous and effectively unmarked. I dont think that should be changed.

My two cents worth.

I think that if a unity, expecially if a recon unity, falls in a minefield, before going away it will set a poster "actung minen" to avoid that unities that will arrive after fall into this minefield. In any case carcasses of  destroyed vehicles will warn new arriving unities, therefore I thinks,  like Platoon Crusher, minefields must not  become invisible again after blundering into of a unity.

I am thinking asiaticus' logic makes sense.

On the other hand, maybe it could be added as an "Option". We'll see!

That might be fixable as Jason says. Until a fix to that can be made I guess you will just have to write down the hex numbers as you find them and remember to avoid them.

Hmm, I wonder if we could make a unit type of no value or SP but a high movement factor and be represented as a "actung minen" sign bmp. Each country slot would have one of these unit types. Then a player could have a number of these available in a scenario in his rear area to move to these locations and place as needed once minefeilds are found. It would effectively "spot" the minefeild from then on as any unit does.
