...right after some more history!

year 1220:

Pomerania's prince Mestwin I dies May 1, having sworn an oath of allegiance to the king of Denmark. He leaves four sons, the oldest of whom becomes duke of Pomerellen and will rule until 1266 as Swantopolik.

The German king Friedrich II sets out for Rome in August. He reconciles Rome's rebellious families with Pope Honorius III, promising the pope that he will undertake a new crusade; Honorious crowns him Holy Roman Emperor on November 22, and gives him permission to keep the Holy Roman Empire and Sicily united, but Friedrich becomes involved in restoring order in Sicily, using cruel measures to suppress the country's anarchy, and he will find one reason after another to postpone the crusade (see 1225).

Genghis Khan plunders Samarkand in his westward march along the fabled Silk Road. Its inhabitants are driven out of the city and beheaded; the city itself is destroyed.

The Dresden Boys' Choir is founded at the Kreuz-Kirche.

Geneva's St. Peter's Cathedral is completed atop the city's highest hill after 60 years of construction in Roman and Gothic styles (see Calvin, 1541).

Post taking-the-cover-off-the-pool* tithe...

*pool = the moneypit of the Moneypit

Amen Brother

Just add a horse and a boat and you will be in my moneypit

I've got the horse part down.

Its not your horse.

Very true. I just pay for it.

I wish I only had to pay for it - He spooked one time and scared my daughter not long after we got him and she will not ride him now - I ride when I get a chance but it is not nearly often enough so it is usually an adventure.

Why did I go to the general discussion forum?   Now I'm angry

I never go there. General discussion board leads to the dark side.

Uh, that's not entirely true. The dark side are JFBs.

No Mike...I....am your father

Just say no to fluffy. If you want to see him, he is back somewhere between page 350 and 400 where Bob introduced him to me.

Yep. My home as a kid was Clear Lake City which was relatively dry, but Friendswood, Seabrook and other cities flooded frequently. Some house were built on stilts. Some had gang planks instead of sidewalks or small boats to get from the house to the road.
