So isn't there a penalty of some kind for one guy having 15 posts on one page?

Not at all. Its a badge of honor we call a faber, named after the first Threadian to accomplish it....sort of like an Immellman...or a Crapper.

Getting ready to watch Lord Stanley's Cup be raised over the Anaheim Ducks players - Tithe.

(Rooting for Ottawa since the Hurricanes didn't even make the playoffs this year, but the Ducks have dominated the Senators)

A question for new "support personnel"...There's a new feature in forum software that lets you attach 3 pictures in a post...Is there a way to manage the text in between them without having to edit?

What? 3 pics in a post? i'll have to try this out...

The unofficial record (now erased in "The Great Abridgment") was a sextuple Faber - or 6 entire pages by one guy - at least 180 posts (30 posts per page...)

OK - testing out the 3 pics in a post feature:

Nope - only allows 1 pic upload per post, but you can always get 3 pics in a post by referring to previous pics.... like this:
THIS ONE WAS PREVIOUSLY POSTED AND JUST REFERRED:

No, it was sextuple (pretty sure) - you had 6 entire pages, but *maybe* 210 posts (but not taking up 7 COMPLETE pages) - which would qualify as a Super-septuple Faber, but you'll have a hard time proving it or disproving it now...

Year 1223:

Portugal's Afonso II (Afonso o Gordo) dies of leprosy at Coimbra in March at age 36 after a 12-year reign. His eldest son is now barely 12 and will reign until he is disposed in 1245 as Sancho II.

Pope Honorius III settles the Barons' War in England by threatening to excommunicate those who support the claims of the French prince Louis against those of the 9-year-old papal vassal Henry III, son of the late King John.

France's Philippe II Augustus dies of fever at Mantes July 14 at age 57 after a splendid 43-year reign in which he has strengthened his Capetian realm, standing up to the papacy and quarreling feudal barons. His weak but headstrong 36-year-old son will rule as Louis VIII, but only for 3 years.

The Nicaean emperor John III Vatatzes defeats the late Theodore Lascaris's brothers in battle, imprisons them, and has them blinded (see 1222; 1225).

Heinrich, count of Schwerin, captures Denmark's Valdemar II, who has brought his country to the height of her power (see 1219). His vassal will not release Valdemar until 1225 and then only on condition that he give up most of his conquests (see 1225).

The Battle of the Kalka River near the mouth of the Dnieper in southern Ukraine shows Europe the power of the Mongols. Their general Ughedei (Ogödei, or Subutai) is outnumbered two to one, but he has each of his men light five fires to make it look like he has 500,000 men instead of just 100,000, mounts dummies and sometimes women on some of the horses in his rear ranks, and defeats Prince Mstislav of Kiev's Russian army and its Cuman allies; he and his brother Juchi (Jöchi) attack the Volga Bulgars, but the Mongols do not press their victory and withdraw back into Asia (see 1235).

Inflation has set in... ... but perhaps i am wrong. i recall you claimed a septuple faber at the time, but i went back and quoted page numbers to disprove it... but i guess it is moot now... probably the most in a row REMAINING is my Christmas Eve super-Triple faber...

On the subject of 'Fabers'.......and yes it is gratifying to have something named after you.......even something this silly.......the origional......and some might say still the best......page 49......the first 'faber' was a true 4 AM stream of somethingorother......containing no numbers.......or 'once agains'......so let's try to keep the quality of 'Fabers up'.....can we? ......(tongue firmly in cheek)..........ow.......

Good morning...

BTW, "rtrapasso" can you please repost that nice blue cloud graphics (that send down thunder and rain) - it was lost in Thread shrinkage ?

Eye seems to be sorted. At least the surgery is completed. It wasn't a nice day but it had to be done. The eye is swollen a little and a little sore but hopefully a weeks rest and TLC will leave it ok.

Good to hear, Speedy! Maybe you can work some 12 ounce curls into your recovery routine.

Sorry...that should be 16 ounce curls for those of you lucky enough to have your drink of choice served in pints.

Always good for a laugh, no matter how often I see it.

Having been in court about once a week for the last 18 years I can attest that things like this are actually said.

My favorite was an old, senile alcoholic judge that we had about 10 years ago (before he was removed). The guy would just speak his mind no matter how off color or inapproprate it was. His best was when he had a Asian kid who was pleaing his 4 point speeding ticket down to a 2 point ticket. The judge asked if he was Japanese or Chinese. The kid said he was Japanese and the judge replied (I kid you not) "Well, we did drop 2 atomic bombs on your country, I guess we can reduce your points" Everyone in the room (including the cops) went silent and looked at each other like "Can he say that?"

He was so entertaining that I would often volunteer to be the court officer on the nights he was on the bench.

That's funny stuff. I've got one too. I was on jury duty and sitting in arainment court watching a kid who was caught drinking while driving and he was 19 yrs old. It was pretty comical throughout but the end was the best. The judge asked him if he learned anything from the whole proceeding and the idiot said, "I learned not to drink and drive until I'm 21." The judge just shook his head.
