ORIGINAL: Gendarme Just dropping in to see how things are going. How's our paper map looking? I had a few ideas to throw out there -- Maybe trim some hexrows off the top or bottom where there usually is no play, unless the trimming will cut into Scandanavia. Also, the WIFFE paper maps don't have all of the ocean areas on them, the world is broken up into maps of the continents with only a small blue area adjacent to the coasts with the rest of the oceans abstracted by "blue communication lines". Will the Matrix Wif paper maps (if Matrix decides to make them, that is...) also trim some empty ocean areas and stick to the continents? And one more question about Matrix Wif itself, not the maps -- will the game allow you to play solitaire? That is, can the player play all sides without having to use a computer opponent, as if you were playing WIFFE solitaire? Thanks. Anthony DeChristopher I have a test copy of the map (30%) at a printer's and I am waiting to see how it looks on different media. Once that hurdle is past, I'll look at different segmentation schemes. I would like to keep all the land masses intact (not abstracted or rescaled) though perhaps a few of the islands in the Eastern Pacific, South Atlantic, and South Indian Oceans could be reduced to a single hex in an abstract sea area. But one thing at a time here; it's not a high priority for me.
