I bit the bullet and bought the game here are some of my first observations on what needs to be fixed:
1) Adjustments for scroll speed
2) Music volume control so you may turn it to be lower than sound affects
3) Had a freeze up on the tutorial? never have had a game do that yet till this one.
4) What is the difference between selecting low end machine and high end machine on the initial set up screen? I wonder what this does behind the scenes.
5) Has potential but I will give more feedback as I play it some more.
6) very comparitive to SC2 but more of a resource (computer) hog than sc2.

I too had the tutorial freeze up and had to get out and quit.
Could not get the ebook manual to open at all yet.

Well in regards to #4 I installed the game hi end on my pc and low end on my notebook. I noticed that the map scale is smaller on my notebook...

"Low end" machines cannot use the closest zoom in level.

Yeah, I am all for #1. Need to be able to set the scroll speed and maybe a little pause when scrolling at the edge.

No freezes on this end but i can add to the ebook issue. It won't load from the start up screen and sometimes locks up my PC. It does work for me however under Start/Programs bar. I have the latest Adobe 8.01(?)
Scroll rate adjustment would be welcome as it's a little wonky.

.... Music volume control

In the options music can be turned off.

The volume can be adjusted with your speaker control. Mine is conveniantly located on my keyboard.

Joe, the problem with that is it is no music or loud music which drowns out the sound affects, I prefer music in the background at a low volume , yet the sound affects at normal loudness. I have not seen a game in the last 8 years that doesnt allow you to control the volume via a control panel in the game for music and sound affects seperately.

I hate music in games. Always the first thing I turn off.

I'll second the need for a scroll speed adjustment!

Hit the edge of the screen with the cursor and the map takes off like a rocket.

When exactly do you get it freeze during the tutorial? Is it happening for everyone at the same point? This has never been spotted during the beta test so it's a bit odd.

What iI would like to see in any future patch are the following
1.Undo button.
2.be able to move units then come back to that unit and fire.
3.Button to show which units have moved and have not.I(i Known the icon flash but hard to see from out zoom level)
4.Range of aircraft
5.Engineer units that can build forts or strongh holds.
this would imo make it a better game.having said that I really like it

Do you know what you clicked on to make it crash while looking at the Italian commanders? What happened, did it crash to desktop, or did the game stop responding and you could still see it on screen? Was it repeatable? If you have any more information that might help that woudl be great! If anyone else has information on this issue please let us know. Crashing in the tutorial is the last thing that should happen!

Great game the only problem i've had so far is when I use the Diplomatic screen to declare war the symbols revert to the NATO style which I hate. I cannot get back to the normal units without exiting and restarting from my last save. So I now save before I declare war.

After declaring war, the program automatically puts you in the farthest zoom-out and shows NATO symbols, however, once you zoom in, you should see the regular icons.

Now you know why the Italian navy spent most of the war in port!

I do not recall what I pressed, all I know is that everything froze and I had to control, alt, delete to get out. So far has not happened again as I graduated from the tutorial.

Beware with undo. In PG 1 you could have had important recon infos with it -> no need to have recon units. In PG2 it was solved.

Perhaps the wrong thread for this "suggestion" but it seems odd that u can telepaort units into surrounded areas if u have a city inside. Seems no replacements or supplies for combat should get in either.. but that is debatable.. but rail lines?? not good!

The route to Murmansk should not be at Iceland. It should be possible to bomb the Murmansk convoys from Norway.

When commanders are recruited and you do not want to assign them you are blocked from deploying any other units that are ready to deploy if you created them after creating a commander. This seems to be a bug or a correction that is needed.

Are you sure? What happens on my machine is that as soon as you press the force pool button the force pool will resort the production queue placing the units that have available deploy hexes first. Do you have a save or screenshot you can send where you opened the force pool and could not deploy?

FPJ - what he says kind of makes sense, because when you go to the deploy screen, you cannot choose what to deploy...you have to deploy the first unit in the force pool...and if a commander is there, then he has to be deployed I think.

For me, if I build Zhukov, then build UK Armour, Zhukov will be first in the production queue.

BUT, if any units have not place to deploy they will end up last in the queue as soon as you push the deploy button hence open the force pool. So if USSR is not in war yet then Zhukov would be placed AFTER that UK Armour unless of course the UK armour is not even finished building.

Can anyone confirm that you had a ready to deploy unit that was blocked in the force pool by a unit that could not deploy?
