Afternoon tithe.

The end is nigh, Blair leaves today and Brown taking over.

We are loosing an egotistical Idot and replacing him with a soal-less accountant!

Well, at least your books will probably be balanced...

There is that!

More than likely he will find new and interesting ways to tax us!

Year 30:

The Romans founded the city of Tournai in Belgium.

The Sermon on the Mount (according to proponents of the 33 theory, although 27 or 28 is more likely)

April 7 - Crucifixion of Jesus (suggested date, but it is also suggested that he died on April 3, 33)[1]

Probable beginning of pontificate of Saint Peter, (until 64).

Phaedrus translates Aesop's fables, and composes some of his own.

Velleius Paterculus writes the general history of the countries known in Antiquity.

The future emperor of Rome, Nerva is also born this year... he will later become a sort of patron saint in Brooklyn, NY, with the inhabitants saying things like "Da Nerva dat guy!!"

Of course, if we had only 8 fingers instead of 10, we would have already reached 1000 (in base 8!!)

Lots of flooding on my road, but nothing terrible...

Of course, today they are closing down the road to my house (again) for construction... that makes the 4th time in 3 years... and i don't know how long it will be closed (months, apparently)...

That adds about another .5 miles of road under construction now on my route to work, so about 10 of the 17.5 miles, i guess... the aggravating thing is: the construction is DONE on almost 10 miles of the road - they just won't open it...

Got to love road maintenace, round here they just tend to fill the pot holes in then spray it in bitchamin and dump gravel on it, you then get the pleasure of rolling it for them in your car whilst spraying gravel and bitchamin all over the under side an wheel arches. Had two replace two headlights and a wind screen in the last three years on the same stretch of road..... they use my tax money to do this..... badly.

Heh - that was what they did in the town i grew up in - when they bothered to do anything at all...

i have a friend that i went to school with there whose mother still lives there. She moved into her house in 1950... and still has not seen any road maintenance to this day on her street... of course, with the hideous winters (it is North of Buffalo NY) it hardly ever gets potholes around there...

Another friend of mine used to refer to it as the pothole training camp for the state...
