Jason - can you give us an ETA as to when you think you all might be releasing something for us? And can you tell us what we will be getting if possible?

Also - is there anything in the works to let those units that can fire smoke - also let it fly in the direct fire phase of one's turn - instead of just the indirect fire mode? Will tank units be able to lay down smoke as well?

I decided to hold off starting a campaign to wait until engineers are fixed. I can hardly wait :-)

Hopefully next week, assuming we can work out the kinks in the testing.

Engineer fix
Rider fix
Bunkers the same value across the three games
DCG's that work for East Front - German Infantry and Panzer units - Existing Campaigns will have to be restarted from the beginning.
Improved Concealment
Improved OPFire
US marines for West Front
West Front unit fixes
Night Graphic fixes for all three games

Those are the key upgrades.

Hadn't thought of that, but it is something can be considered for a later date.

Probably not.

This is great news. Now that the DCG barbarossa campaigns are nearly done, one of the greatest gremlins of all time can finally be flushed. Just the idea of being able to go straight through to may 1945 in an east front DCG makes my mouth water, of course it could also be these friggin little debby coffee cakes thats doing it. I really need to start eating better. Semper Snackcake

This is great news indeed, looks like I'll be buying this one after all. Are the bizarre setups fixed (units spread all over the place in no logical patterns), or are you just tweaking replacement points generated between battles and numbers of turns generated for the larger sized battles?

Jim

The replacements points and numbers of turns is something I haven't looked into yet, but I will see if I can figure out the tables to make some sense of it all.

The bizarre setup is out of my control, that is a programming function.

What is fixed is new order of battles for the Germans to use, and since upgrades now happen on the company level only (except for your character) there shouldn't be anymore crashes, nor 1SP upgrades.

End of the week! Assuming no hiccups are brought up, but looking all good thus far. Just waiting on a few graphic mods to include in the release.

That's good news Jason. I have several wargames on the hard drive right now, but I'm a big fan of the scale of JTCS and I look forward to continuing play with the new changes and fixes. Right now I'm struggling through West Front's "Debut Of The Honey". I must be doing something wrong since the AI is shooting my tail off each time, but oddly I don't really mind because it's interesting to figure out why and how.

BTW, for those considering building custom scenarios, it's quite nice that you put in the time for such monsters as the Corregidor and Overlord releases, but also consider some complexity "3", "4" and "5" scenarios for those of us who don't have the time to complete such big complexity "10" scenarios, not to mention not having a PBEM partner for such endeavours.

I prefer to design and play the large scenarios. Presently, I am working on a massive, massive scenario that deals with a battle on the East Front. I have had three versions of it already, and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the different tactical and strategic decisions that were required. Now with all the new toys that are available, the scenario will get a whole new life. Excited, I am!

In regards to your concern, no worries.. there are many scenarios available in the 3-6 range and more coming.

Hope you're well
Jason Petho

Won't be for this patch, but we'll look into it for a future patch.

Will the next patch effect our current games.  I am playing the Overlord scenario and hope not to start over.

Your current stand alone scenarios, no. It should not, with the exception of fixing the engineers.

Dynamic Campaigns in East Front will need to be RESTARTED in order to work.
