Once I got the command prompt to "run as administrator", that fixed the problem. Still getting used to all of the nuances of Vista, but on my setup "Command Prompt" doesn't appear in the list that pops up when I click the "Start" button. I tried right-clicking on "Run ...", but that didn't accomplish anything. To get the error in the previous post, I logged on to an account with Administrator privileges and ran the command from there, but that didn't seem to get the desired result. I had to go back to the user account, click on "All Programs", then "Accessories", then right-click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator". But it's fixed. I set up a quick association using the "Learn to Play" template, managed a game, and got the national anthem, the fireworks, and the crowd noises. Thanks for your help, Shaun. And thanks to Microsoft for creating these complex puzzles to keep us old-timers intellectually sharp ... (The photo is me ... when I graduated from college ... in 1971 ... for what that's worth.)
