Wow...this is an indescribably good game. I've seen lots of games at this scale, but this one is fantastic.

I started playing Crusader human (self) vs Human (self)...yes as my human self against my human self...

just to see how the game worked, and well, just the Crusader scenario alone is well worth the price of the game.

That is absolutely the best version of Crusader ever and I've probably seen half -a-dozen versions in various game
systems.

I really like the strongpoint mode of representing defenses and how battalions can be (apparently somehow) distributed
into 4 contiguous fortified hexes. Plus, the Italian corps and division structures make sense for the first time I've ever seen them.
I always thought the XX corps was probably good for something and in this version it can go places and do things.

Extended movement for AT guns is a great way of allowing them to move a lot without letting them completely dominate things.

And blasting things out of existence with artillery is (for me, at least) a convincing way of allowing big guns to be part of the battle.
I'm sure armies would not dig in and have lots of artillery if big guns were not potentially lethal.

I have to chime in here too: Battlefront is indeed an absolutely fantastic wargame! Crusader is the first user created scenario (and a quality one at that). As more scenarios are created by magicians like Brubaker, Battlefront stands to get even better.
