I know that the icons/symbols used by equipment can be changed in the Bioeditor but can the sound also be changed? I have created individual infantry squads for a WWII scenario and would like to change the sound of the Japanese squad to use a "banzai" charge sound when attacking. Is this possible?

**already posted at the main forum but I guess this would be more of a scenario design question** Sorry for the duplicate

I'm thinking that the easiest way to do this is probably to do the same search as is done for the graphics files, except that I'll add a 1 or 2 in front of the sound for the current player, for example, 1click might be american and 2click might be japanese, just plain click would be found if neither 1 or 2 were found. It will search for the sound files in the same directory that the graphics are in. Reserve units and retreating units many not sound right.

We'll see how that works.

Ralph,

Your idea sounds great. I don't think there would be any problem for the retreating units as there is already a retreat sound file that would kick-in when the retreat would take place. This would give the ability to assign dedicated sounds to equipment when they are created with the bioeditor..i.e. Subs, V1/V2 rockets or Japanese "Banzai" Inf. squads :-)

Do you remember the topic of being able to trigger a sound file or video via the Event Editor (Radio announcements or victory clips)? Was that something that is still in consideration or too complex to modify?

It's still on the list. I'm for anything that adds to the immersion.

What we want is background music that pops up on the situation briefing and varies according to who is winning. If, for example, we have an imaginary US-Mexican war, if the VP count has shifted in the favor of the US in the last turn, everyone has to listen to Rap. If it's gone in favor of Mexico, it's time for Vicente Fernandez.

I hope you're joking. If it's a tie, should it play different music in each ear?

BTW, this is in there now. You can assign sound per scenario, and per side.

I think that's known as an...ocean. It's pretty easy to use, actually. You just kind of fall into it...
