Very much enjoying the game so far... the manual and Lava's tutorial made things pretty clear when taken together.

One question, however: I immediately sallied Scheer's High Seas Fleet into the North Sea and had a row with the Royal Navy - during the play-by-play, I seemed to give as good as I got, but at the end of the phase the results screen only showed how many ships of mine remained in the sea zone and who owned the zone - as far as I could tell, I had no way of telling if my ships were damaged/sunk or what damage I had inflicted on the RN. Is there any way to recap the sunk/damaged ships from the term?

Also, the manual listed a 1918 scenario, but there does not seem to be a way to access that on the start-up menu.

You can't tell until you get to the strategic interphase.  Then you can click on your ships in the screen at the bottom left and see if they're damaged.  I think this needs to be fixed--nobody really wants to wait a whole turn to see if you had an overwhelming or a pyrrhic victory.  It doesn't affect the game, however, because you can only give your navy orders during the strategic phase anyway.

The idea of having impulses means that you cannot easily back off from commitments until the turn truly ends and information would be limited during impulse turns. At least that is how I look at it, so I do not think it needs to be changed.........

I would be nice to see the state of your fleet betwen strategic turns - IIRC we did ask for it during the beta's, but perhaps a bit late.

but it isn't necessary - the only time you need to see your ship states is during the stratigic phase when deploying them, and it's all there.

anopther good thing would be an estimate of damage done to the other guy....

Agreed; I'd also like some sort of report at the end of each naval combat telling me which ships sank - both sides at Jutland knew pretty quickly which ships had gone under.  Otherwise the ships will just be gone in the next strategic phase, and I'll have no way of finding out who bought it unless I keep a record of every ship.

Can't you see the number of hits scored by your fleets when naval combat is resolved? So far as I was aware this would enable you to at least estimate the damage you were inflicting.
