This may be a good time for posts regarding the 2007 NFL Draft.

Which teams did well?

Which teams did poorly?

Which players are sleepers that were picked up later?

Any thoughts?

It's hard to imagine a worse draft than Oakland's. The preseason is nearly over and they STILL don't have the #1 overall pick under contract, despite the fact that the Collective bargaining Agreement doesn't give them a whole lot of leverage.

I think it's just a matter of this quarterback realizing that Oakland is a bad fit  This is a franchise in utter disarray, from ownership on down. It's been a decade since Al Davis has made a decent football decision as owner; many of his ideas about the game are obsolete.

Well being a longtime Raider fan ,would agree ,if RUSSELL dos`nt sign it was a bad draft .But i think we got a good tight end and several other promising players in draft . Ithink a lot of raiders problems over years was bad decisions in picking coaches . Also keeping great players as ast. coaches .Over the years the game has pass some of them by . Davis biggest mistake over years , was getting to wrapped up in court cases . Took him away from seeing things in person, like he use to . Worst thing happened over yrs was when RON WOLF left for gm job in Green Bay .He had a great hand in the grat teams from 60, 70 , early 80. I think Kiffin will turn the team around . Done a lot so far.
Wish the game , was like the good old days again , miss those wild Raiders , who would party hard before great games . Sometimes win or lose , from beer i helped deliver from Great JIM OTTO`S Store . If ever there was a Mister Raider its that man . Guess i`ve been rambling to much . Don`t want to sound like a 49er fan.

They way rookies are paid is out of whack.  The players and owners both know this.

It is my hope that the CBA can be modified to allow more money to go to veterans instead of unproven rookies.

One thing the league can do now is guarantee a same round draft pick for any unsigned player.  This will end the zero sum game that agents use to pressure teams into signing players at inflated rates.

This is sort of off topic, but it is strange that the Raiders got rid of Randy Moss and then picked up Daunte Culpepper.

The Raiders have really not looked great in the past years, but the defense was playing much better at the end of last season, and that is a positive sign.

Well Moss was pathetic , I knew when we got him , he had his quirks like not playing hard all the time and sometimes giving up on plays to him . But they got worst here . Can`t wait to see him give up on a ball that Brady pass`es . Well the key to the raiders this year is offensive line . So far a big improvement with the way their line coach has them playing . They won`t beat san diego this yr. But K.C , denver look beatable. Also definately they need to stop the money roller coaster . There is no way anybody deserves 30 million for past deeds in college . I think 3 to 5 million max for signing bonus for any first round players .Definately i also believe it should be easier for teams to reclaim bonus to.

I am a Minnesota Vikings fan, and I can say that Randy Moss did take plays off, but he has also been injured since day one in the NFL.  That explains some of his unwillingness to run fly and corner routes time and time again when the play called is a screen or run.

His play was counterproductive when Moss played injured and defenses could key off him to see if the play is a pass or run.  The coaches in New England are trying to keep Moss healthy enough to play at his best for them, and that is a great idea.

I expect a big year from Moss - at least while he is playing.  I expect less deep routes and more red zone plays for Moss by the Pats than had been called by the Raiders.
