Does anyone know when the next patch is coming out and what issues the designers are planning on addressing? Maybe I'm missing it, but I haven't seen any information. There are critical issues that need to be addressed (see other thread next patch, for example) and I was hoping the designers would have posted something about a patch by now. If there is information in another thread, please post a link here!

Posted the same question in the Slitherine forum a couple of weeks back and they didn't spill the beans either, just said that they were working on it. Can't understand why they don't give any info, nobody is going to get money away from them by saying what they're working to fix.

We'll have to be patient and pray they do it well

It is too bad that most companies in this industry feel there customers do not deserve information on what and when something will be fixed but most dont.   Most players tell you dont ask cus it will be done when it is done.  That is so silly.

Anyway I would hope these guys would advice there intent and give updates as to progress but they have moved into a rat hole and covered it up.

a message can be delivered without such blatant insult and negativity (by some anyway) Please feel free to not respond with an insult.

So you think it is insulting to demand what you paid for. It is insulting to request information as to when and what they will fix.  It is negative to report that weeks ago you asked when and what they intend to fix and receive no response.

Well sorry but when I bought the game I expected a certain standard.  It was and is not yet provided.  They have failed to state how when or if they intend to release an update to fix glaring problems.

They were very good in letting us know what was happening after the release.  But since that update which didnt really fix much they have been quite.  I have seen many posts asking for an update but none where answered.

This was my first post on the update.  It will not be my last.

I paid $70 for this game and it is very badly flawed technically.  These flaws need to be addressed.  The orginal question was not responded too.  I didnt ask it but I agree with it.  First respondent said he asked on there forum couple weeks ago without response.

So I continue to also wish to know when and what they are fixing.  They have only said they are fixing the oil bug so far as I can tell.

targul,

I would hang in there,  give them some time.  I feel yor pain,  but in all honesty they are underpaid and over worked .  I know thats not an excuse but its probably the truth .  then again ,who in the heck am i , tryin to give you advise. All i know is the matrix group is pretty darn good at supporting the games,  and with time they will get this baby right.  The game has some real promise and with a few patches it will be a real gem.  Keep up the posting thou , because its with feed back such as yors that helps them get it right.  keep fight the good fight!!

I agree Matrix is good at supporting there games.  But this game is not a Matrix game.  These people are unknowns.  Matrix is even worse at responding to updates but since I have dealt with them for 3 years I know they know how and will try to do the job.

My question with this company is I am really unsure they know how.  There game is so strange it is difficult for me to understand how they could have released it with the flaws.  PBEM that is so far below standard it is unplayable.  When you try all you get is nothing never have I seen such poor work and lack of planning.  No weather.  Havent seen a game that tried that in over 20 years.  Vichy?  No Africa AI they had to know that how could they have missed.   Long range bombing carriers?  I could go on for pages.  These are just the issues that should have been addressed prior to release.  Any playtesting would have revealed these.

First patch addressed the lack of Siberian transfer by adding more troops and increasing production.  Worked okay.  PBEM was addressed but without providing any information to the players so if that is the quality to expect from a major issue what will we see next.  They got the AI to do some landings in France.  Helps.

This release was $20 more or approximately 33% more then anyother release of its type and it is below the quality of the releases costing $40.  When I pay more I expect more.  When I purchased HOI and HOI2 they were priced as normal.  I bought them and if you look back at my posts I rarely complained.  The product was reasonably well done.  Both needed patchs but had the basics this one does not.

There are reasons for waiting until announcing things. Firstly, if you promise something and then it does not turn out like you said it would then ppl would feel disappointed. Secondly, if we tell about everything now then we would be busy answering loads of questions and trying to sort out miss understandings. Just look at this topic, if we were to discuss every change like this then we would be busy on forum instead of busy programming and fixing the game http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1551393

A patch is a fix, not an expansion pack. I do not know what some of you expect from a game but CEaW has in its defence gotten reviews from 60%-92% with most of them around 80%.

Okay, just picked this puppy up. Been busy enjoying my family & summer. CEAW is a fun game, I love the hexes, great map, and intense action. I'm looking forward to doing a little bit of training before I get into the big competition.

@targul --- Look what the cat drug in from Canada, if it isn't the Dollman. Figures you're from Canada. You still buying bankrupt stock in KMart? Maybe not, because you're making up new stories here. Why don't you & I play a couple games of CEAW?

I think this is a very good game, by the fact that I willing to express views about it, means I want to play it in the long term. I think the combat system is very good (exception "carriers") and fun to play.

I like the oil, manpower componet (unique). needs to be tweaked perhaps, but easy to do in future patches I'm sure.

Do you consider adding weather elsewere on the map a fix or expansion?
Do you condider adding variable entry for neutral powers (major/minor) in a future patch?

No, it is not likely that we add a full weather system for the whole map.
Yes, we are going to add variable entry for neutral powers (both major and minor) and also letting the entry dates being in editor to further enable other wars than WW2 to be created.

As for carriers, the strategy relies on air superiority so yes it can succeed but only if Axis neglect buying air (as in Targul's strategy buying 4 laboratories) since 3 German fighers will beat the 2 allied air and 2 allied carriers. Play IrishDragoonGuards or Vypuero and see if you can pull of the carrier thing vs him, I doubt you succeed since they will probably buy a third German fighter pretty soon instead of buying laboratories
