Guys, PureSim carries a decent amount of baggage to support 98/ME and I am considering dropping support for them. Wondering if any of the folks around here still play PureSim on Windows 98 or Windows ME?

I'd still continue support for Windows NT 4, 2000, 2003, XP and Vista, but I'd love to drop 98/ME.

Thoughts?

XP here as well !

I know of probably a handful of 98/ME PCs that I work on any more. Of course some people are loyal (I was for a long time).
Maybe a majority will make your mind up ??

I believe it is reasonable to drop 98 and ME support in Puresim for upcoming upgrades.  Heck, Microsoft barely supports them anymore!  I'm a software developer and my typical "policy" is to support the 2 latest Microsoft OSes and web browsers.

XP for me, too. I can't think of any current games that support Win98 anymore. If removing 98 support slims down the game, then I'm all for it.

I have XP also. I haven't heard/read of any one with Win 98/ME in any of the threads on the boards in a long time.

I'm on Vista, which I'm learning to loathe with a passion, so removing 98 and ME support is fine with me.

I have been considering an upgrade to Vista but get all kinds of differing opinions on whether I should go ahead or not.

Why do you find yourself hating Vista???

Thanks

XP here. I don't see any reason to continue to support 98 or ME.

Enjoying DOS 6.0 thanks.

Seriuosly, I'm running it on three different PCs, one each running running 2000, XP and Vista. On that subject though, I don't think you should feel guilty about dropping 98/ME-- you can't be expected to support everything from 3.11 onward. For selfish reasons, I would hope you stick with 2000, since that's what I'm running at work, but they may go up to XP soon so it may all be a moot point.

I digress, drop the 98/ME. You won't lose a wink of sleep over it and I cannot imagine anyone would be justified in complaining should they still be running something as antiquated as that. It's not like places still sell coal for steam-powered ships, right?

Running XP Pro on everything in the house or work. I'd drop support for those legacy OS's. Especially if you shedding dead weight off the total size of the install.
