Still no nukes...guess Andy is trying to figute out were he wants to drop it.
My guess is Tokyo/Gumma. Nothing we can do about it. Re-tooling many smaller factories
to produce Shindens - this is our only war winning weapon.

For some time I have been unloading supply ships at Legaspi - a size 1 port...takes
a long time but until now we have escaped attention. In all some 120k supplies have been
loaded on cargo ships and ca 50k already unloaded.

Today large number of enemy LBA on search modus appeared over Legaspi followed by all kinds
of attack ac. These suffered badly to our CAP.

In the PM phase an enemy surface group sank or damaged a dozen transports (ca 1/4 of the total number there).
The surface groups we assigned didn't interfer. Maybe because cautious msw surface TF isn't very aggressive, and
because the PC group was on ASW mission.

I must strongly emphasize how important these 50k supplies were to Luzon.
Without them we would have been in serious trouble in a few weeks. Will unload as much as possible before our ships
are sunk.

How does your resource situation look like on Home Islands? Are you transfering some resources from Port Arthur/Manchuria? Or you depend on DEI resources and oil?

There are the occasional resource convoy coming in from China and blocade breaker oil tankers still manage to slip through.
Basically we live on Home Island resources and stock piles.

China, India/Burma production sustains our HI while we draw on reserves.
Only very important factories are repaired if damaged in air strikes and this is a way to cut back on production in order to make
reserves last longer. E.g Frank fighters and transport ac production has been turned off since pools are big enough.
The aim is to have big enough ac pools by the end of the year to manage throughout the last few months. Then we can keep on producing
Shindens and other on demand types right through the end.

Naval production is now reduced to the HA class subs only (all accelerated) as well as some MSW and PC types.
No more air or ground units will arrive and there are no more ac types to research.

It seems to me that we're going to manage to get through the war without suffering all the grievances Japan had in real life!
Andy kind off gave up on the sub war - me thinks he shouldn't have as I've been running almost unescorted convoys from Kwantung and China
for almost a year without being intercepted.

Now we're preparing for one last round of unrelentless battle!
Hope to get the Combined Fleet ready in time - looks like we need another 3-4 months though.

Back in business after surviving my Stag party

Trip with glider was cancelled due to poor weather. Did some paintball after a trip
with a belt wagon (BV - swedish made). Landed some good hits

Later on we went to an Aha concert
in pouring rain before nach spiel...was a tough morning today

Upgraded first George unit to Shinden in Harbin today. Defenses in Kwantung almost ready.

aha rocks! take on me is one of the best videos ever made PERIOD, and The Sun Always Shines On TV is a brilliantly written and heavy 80's song. of course those 2 songs were all we ever heard of them in canada, but nice to hear they'r still around!

, only those 2 songs made it over the north sea too iirc.

APD losses are good to see , only allied fast transport type that can carry engineer vehicles so i'm guessing andly isn't pleased by thier loss. not sure how many APD's the allies have in 1945 but it 'looks' like andy has concentrated them for a specific task and you just bashed them badly. will certainly hurt allied engineering plans on mainland india

No turn from Andy tonight. From Thursday I doubt I'll be able to finish many turns as wedding preparations are escalated...angst!

I thought Andy could airlift an airborne div to Yanam. If he ferries them in APDs it means that he's in a hurry.
I'm doing my best to reinforce all bases - don't want any of them to be captured by paras. Planning to bomb any incursion
to smithers!

Troops from Burma are currently rolling past Calcutta on their way north.
I have to delay the fall of Bombay and Karachi for as long as possible!

Have no idea how many APDs Andy may have, but it can't hurt to reduce the numbers!-)
Flak is intens; 75% of attacking ac are damaged.

The game is pretty mutch hanging in the balance now with Luzon, Iwo, Burma and India currently stalmated.
The Red Steam Roller and B-29 nukes will do their worst to break it

Andy seems not to like using his subs. in our game (Apr 43) he has yet to use any in an offensive manner beyond a single foray into Japanese waters where my ASW pounced him. My last recon of Darwin revealed 25+ subs there but I haven't seen one at sea in a long time.

A strategic map and the route of a blocade runner just arriving in Osaka/Kobe with 16000 tons of crude oil!
All these small dramas are never displayed in AARs.

It's kinda difficult to draw a clear picture of the Empire since it's split into several zones.
There is however a land route from Karachi - India to Harbin - Kwantung. Sea lanes are cut though and it's very
dangerous and time consuming to move supplies, resources and troops between the Eastern and Western parts of the Empire.

Nope, not even minelaying. Here's what he had to say when I asked him about his limited use of sub in our game and in his games with PzB and Pauk (statement is editted as it contained too much data and wouldn't be fair to PzB, Pauk or Andy).

I think andy still has bad memories from the earlier versions of WitP with its laser guided depth charges and modern AASW. Most of his games are started before the patches nerfed the asw and i'm not sure if the patches even affected ongoing games.

Yep, Speedy's sub experience against Fabertong shows that one can achievetty pretty good results if both sides agree on using a realistic approach to sub ops.
But PzB's game is an all-out survive or die experience, so indeed Allied subs have hard time feeling safe - especially with their early heavy losses

All true, but I've expended a lot of my crack ASW units. Don't have as many ASW vessels
left either and there would have been plenty of easy pickings if Andy took time to move his
remaining subs around. Guess he's demotivated by earlier experiences as Fish say....

Here is our troop dispositions before the Red Storm breaks loose.
Any ideas for how to improve it?

As before - the Red steam roller will be so strong that we need to concentrate our forces.
Andy will 110% certainly infest Harbin - so let's meet him here.

A sizeable reserve including 2 panzer divisions will be available for counter attacks into enemy
flanks. No more troops to add to the OOB - but more LBA will move to Kwantung in the weeks to come.
Havy strikes on enemy armour will be key to halting the Reds!

If he does have those legendary rifle and tank corps, you'd better make the decisive battle happen between changchung and mukden, try to make him overconfidence and ignore synchon his 3 main army group and so defeat his force in detail. If he does be careful and combine his entire force, there is perhaps no good solution.

My advise? Attack first. Remember, when soviets are inactive, they can only perform training missions. No CAP. So if you manage to pull a succesfull sweep over Vladivostok or take out some of his Il-2s on the ground- every Soviet airplane counts. If I were you, i would be worried about possible Soviet injection into North Korea from Vladivostok. Even though fortresses seem to be pre-planned well, Manchuria has lots of empty spaces. If Soviets encircle your fortresses and try to attrition your soldiers out, the only hope is air supply transport. Btw., i think that if you knew what the disposition of the enemy forces is, you could even launch a effective punch into the Soviet Union. A assault behind Vladivostok and elimination one-by-one base after base, with separated rifle corps., could work out with such forces and air support.
