ORIGINAL: Hertston Sorry, but I'm still confused on this. According to the blurb "Advanced Tactics is a versatile turn-based strategy system that gives gamers the chance to wage almost any battle in any time period". According to Vic "the rules, equipment and troops and scenarios are all WW2". Point taken on the scenario editor, but then you could say much the same about TOAW (there have been Nappy and ACW scenarios for that). What exactly IS on offer? A wargame construction kit of sorts interests me (even if all the shipped scenarios are WW2); yet another WW2 operational game does not. Instead of hardcoding a ww2 era engine for Advanced Tactics i designed a meta engine that i used to make a ww2 ruleset. The game comes with ww2 scenarios and this ww2 ruleset. However the editor allows you to make different rulesets. In a ruleset you can define all the graphics used, the landscapes for the hexes, rivertypes, roadtypes, troop types, combat matrixes, movement cost matrixes, researchfields, production items, etc.. Furthermore the AI is versatile, but has been optimized for the world war 2 ruleset.
