For the heck of it, I ran a full season of version 2 with the included league. It appears that RBs, regardless of ratings, have a maximum gain from scrimmage of 19 yards. Seems a *bit* implausible. The longest pass completion seems to be fixed at 41 yds.

With this version of the game the quick sim uses a different engine than the played games.  To keep stats reasonable the game has a "simgame" file with parameters that the game uses for the quick sims.  In this you can set the max yards for both pass and run.  In beta testing these have been played around with alot to get stats that compare well with the played games.

For the next version of the game David has stated the quick or fast sim will use the same engine as the played games.  Problem is the simmed games will take much longer.

In the beta group it has been pointed out that the stats are pretty vanila, no really big plays, and at one point David was going to try to build in the possiblity of big plays.  Didnt happen for this release, but wouldnt be surprised if that isnt done for an update at some point.

Thanks for the response. Indeed, the variety of results is much greater when not quick simmed.

Two more questions:
1- Is there a zoom in/out feature? Sometimes the big picture is helpful.
2- When on defense the camera defaults to behind the opposing center- which is kind of non-immersive. I want it behind my MLB.
3- Homefield advantage, present? This is a big factor in the NFL. Neutral site option for Super Bowl, etc.?

There are currently only 4 camera views to use during the game.  Hit Function keys listed to get the views.

F5-  Behind the offense
F6- Overhead
F7- Sideline view from the stands
F8- behind the defense from the sideline, this view changes as you get closer to the defensive teams endzone.

No.

I think there is no special home field advantage. But i have doubts if he is really so big in the NFL. Las Vegas sportsbooks evaluate the home field advantage with 3 points - only a FG. In soccer the home teams win 50% and away teams 25% of the games (25% draw).

Apparently, the HF advantage begins slowly then accelerates toward the end of the season: over 5 points by the 16th game.

And excuse me, Tullius, but you're German for God's sake.
