Hello!

To quiet in these forums!! I love to read the after action reports and other threads but I am running out of unread ones. I hope soon I will be brave enough to venture online and that someone also is around to play me. However that was beside this post.

It is a noobish post I guess but still I am happy just to get some comment.

When playing axis in the full lenght normal campaign I find a strategy similar to this one (i vary it a bit and also it depend a bit of what combatresults occur) to be a pretty safe bet of winning;

1) Most important, keep USA out as long as possible and make ready for a hammerslam with the japs just before USA will autoenter - warreadiness enter, clearing hopefully the oceans from India to USA west coast of allied ships. With the advanced supplies it becomes a bit harder to get the transports on the USA coast I think but still very possible to cripple them enough to maintain advantage until Germany also can focus on Western powers.

2) Also dont tease the russians to much. Keep them happy until you are ready to strike hard and deep. Either spring 41 or possibly spring 42 (if 42 you should have very many troops and supply ready and perhaps also be ready to strike from Finland or Turkey. (once you attack Turkey be ready for warreadiness in Rus to jump high).

3) If results and odds let you; attack eastern france very early (second or third turn) leaving the low countries alone to reduce warreadines-levels. 8if not taking low countries be aware that on some point they will enter (i.e. when you hit them with japan in southeastasia?)

4) Dont build subs as german player instead focus on heavy bombers in numbers and research (both land and sea attack). Taking out wa transport with subs raise US entry level, doing it with bombers (and the ai will let you) does not raise warreadiness. And the bombers are also very useful for other things.

5) While building the Barbarossa army and teching up cripple as much british power as you can, mainly in the mediterrean and mid east theater with your air and italian navy if possible.

6) Do not bother invading the british isles until Barbarossa is won. I find it to often futile and a waste of resources and that waste will make Barbarossa to hard.

7) Japan, as I read in the AAR section I use air to stop all china production. I do not mount attacks on interior china with landtroops.

8) Building before striking western allies (in addition to what is being produced when game starts);
Heavy bombers, about three maybe.
Carriers and cags, one or two.
Light fleets, one or two.
Transports
Supply

9) What to tech;
CAGS I normally tech one step in most areas to be superior to enemy cags and to inflict a massive pearl harbor.
Light fleets i tech sub hunting.
Bombers land attack also researched.

10) The japs after the hammerstrike then focus on killing anyhting the western allies tries to send against them as priority 1.

Priority 2 is expand and claim new resources whenever possible.

Usually it will take me a few turns to get Borneo, Singapore and so on but it does not matter as long as western allied transports are being sunk all over the globe.

Have you tried striking at SW USA, if the WA players doesn't build fighters it pays a lot more to hit and sink the US cvs and then redeploy just outside of PH, then the WA player will probably sail out all his ships, better to have them damage by op fire than sunk next turn by japanese CAGs.
Of course this will work with some not very experienced and probably against the AI.
You can still sink all those traines following this tactic, Wake is an island to be taken to provide aircover with japanese fighters, then PH itself. But beware your transport lines can be hit so you have to defend them or you risk leaving you cvs isolated without supply.
