Well, Steve, you might have already deduced that my login is related to my last name and my Navy occupation. While in bootcamp during 1972, my fellow recruits began calling me "Chez" which was shortened from my last name of "Sanchez". That nickname stuck with me throughout my naval career (at least until I made Chief!) Being a fellow AW you are probably quite familiar with the term "Jezebel" (which is the old codeword for passive acoustic sonar). And of course us AW's always referred to "Jezebel" as "Jez". The two terms weren't put together until my VP-5 Keflavik deployment in 1976. My crew and I were at debrief following a very successful (and highly visible) prosecution of a new Victor II class SSN. We had detected him several CZs out and localized him quite rapidly. We tracked him and delivered several simulated kills (9 IIRC). During the debrief, the debriefer asked my TACCO (tactical coordinator) why we had believed it was the sub that far out (he had a non-standard signature). My TACCO said, "Well, you'll have to ask Chez, he's the Jez." And a new nickname was born... along with my first Navy Achievement Medal... Chez aka "ChezDaJez"
