Greetings.

With version 2.1 out the door and the major post ship problems addressed, I've starting working on the version 2.2 update. No, this won't have the massive number of improvements as 2.0 had over its predecessors, but I hope it will include some incremental improvements to existing features.

There are a couple of known bugs I'm working on as well. A problem with the game logs was reported after I'd already put 2.1 in the can so unfortunately the game log fix needed to wait. 2.2 should address those problems. There's also a minor problem of one of the penalties incorrectly applying the penalty distance to rushing stats. I'm going to see if I can get that worked out.

I'm working on a couple of small improvements for the quick sim game feature. I am investigating a couple of things that may allow more diverse results without adding lengthy development times.

I'm also going to see if I can add a couple more statistical items. I think the majority of 'official' stats that I can technically track are in the game but I'm going to see if some of the unofficial, or more obscure, ones can be included without adding lengthy development times and without breaking existing leagues (causing the need for a league reset).

At this time I have no timetable for a v2.2 release but wanted to let everyone know that it is being worked on at least.

I'll update this thread as things progress or change.

thanks
David

Thats great. Pls also have a look at the Arena League(s).
I´m playing an Arena League (5min Quarter), whereby I´m playing one game per gameday in coach mode & quick sim the others. Out of 20 quick sim games 7 games ended with a 12-09 score (other usual results are: 09-06, 12-06 etc), & only in 6 games the AI managed to score a TD.
Another issue in quick sim mode is, that the Kickers never missed a FG or PAT.
In coach mode everything works excellent for me, but I would like to use a mixed game style, because I don´t have so much spare time to play every game by myself.
Thx for your understanding.
th (sorry for my bad english)

Gotta admit, I'm feeling the same way after playing the game these past few weeks, and now playing the most recently patched version. I'd shelved the game the past few months waiting for the 2.0 upgrade - and I must say it was well worth the wait. MaxFB is a brand new game for me and a blast to play as-is right now. Big thanks again to David and the beta team for the great work on MaxFB.

David,

Any idea when you will be starting the next major release? And what will be included? We just got a free major upgrade and I'm not looking to spend more money, but at some point people are going to be willing to pay for another major upgrade.

You had a survey from users a while back on what we would like to see. Any plans on adding these things and when you will be starting to work on them?

Thanks!!!!

Hi.

At the moment I have no set date to officially start work in 3.0 although a rudimentary prototype for one of the features has been worked on already. And I've been writing design documents for a couple of other features for a while now. Unfortuntely, 3.0 can't start until there is no further work on the 2.0 code base so it also depends on how long I am continuing to update 2.0. The target feature list includes AI trades, optional salary cap, and replacement of the quick sim feature with one based on the 3D game play. There are a few other "wow!" features being targeted as well but I'm going to wait to reveal those.

Once work is started, 3.0 will likely take over a calendar year to complete. And yes, as you thought, it will be a paid version, not a free update like 2.0 is.

thanks
David

I will gladly pay for 3.0........I easily have gotten my moneys worth out of MaxFB before the 2.0 even hit.

I too would gladly pay for 3.0.  I am surprised that you didn't charge for the 2.0 upgrade, as it is a substantially better product.  Thanks Dave!

3.0 will be an enhanced product with many of the additional features that the community has been asking for and more.  David has gone over wishlist items and has considered feedback from the beta team to make the design and feature list for 3.0 as complete as he could make it.  The rough outline he has presented to the beta team looks really nice.

As David has stated above, 3.0 will be no small task.  The game improvements will require recoding many areas and complete new code for additional feature.  The estimations are that it will be a year out before it could be completed.  Obviously, 3.0 will will be a pay product.

In the interim, David has indicated that he will look at a few areas to tweak and upgrade for the 2.x release.  These changes will not require a major recoding, but I am sure that these small changes will be welcome as well.

As a member of the beta team and a moderator on this board, I receive quite a bit of feedback from the Maximum-Football community.  Please continue to do so and post in the wishlist area.  Feedback and constructive criticism, either good or bad, is important to the development of this product.

Unofficially, I would like to add that this is a crucial time for Maximum-Football.  Matrix Games and Wintervalley software released 2.0 as a fee upgrade to existing customers as a reward for your continued support of this product.  It is my sincere hope that the community will be able to pass the word on about Maximum-Football, to help increase the game's visibility and sales over the holidays, and continue that support in the future.

Are there still plans to implement a slow-sim that uses the actual game engine and playbooks, etc. into the 3.0 version? This would be a huge improvement over having to let all the games play out ever so slowly each game week.
