I downloaded the beta6 and continued my current game. I had previously run into a bug with the sound on that shut my game down. When sound off it was fine. With new beta 6 I turned sound on. No problems for about 3 or 4 turns then bam same error that shut game down.

Ok questions. Does the news reports stay the same every game or are the results in africa affected at all by the game? Are the reports just for aesthetic purposes or do they serve a purpose?

Also I came across questionable AI. Germans have Paris surrounded except for 1 hex. We are poised to attack Paris. Entente has a british 24 strnegth inf and a 22 strength French along with about 4 arty units in Paris. In the one hex Entente still occupies next to Paris are 4 full strnegth units. Instead of moving infantry in and arty out of Paris, Entente lets the 2 inf and 4 arty get wiped out. Actually the battle lasts into the next impulse, with a 6 strength french inf still hanging on. In the next Impulse I send in 4 fresh corps to finish the job. Although the Entente still has 4 fresh corps sitting next toParis they don't reinforce and let Paris fall. Does the AI not reinforce battles lasting more than 1 impulse? Shouldnt Paris be held at all cost? ALso earlier they reinforced southern front against Germany at Lyon insted of protecting Paris.

Also how is France reinforcing or producing all their units up to full stength? Before Paris fell they only held 4 cities. Most of their food and raw materilas taken by Germany.

As for Turkey Imoved a corps and HQ adjacent to the India hex. When I activated the HQ it would not let me move the corps into the India hex. Earlier in the game there had been a British corps there. If that cannot be attacked then what is purpose of putting it there? If I dont fortify the border there can Britsh attack from there?

Still enjoying the heck out of the game. Still has the just one more turn syndrome for me.

The news repprts are for effect only - hte game doens't alter them or vice versa.

I can't answer the other questions, but France has plenty of imported reources it can use, and a sizeable food surplus from trade too.

As a follow up but more as a AAR, I finished 1916 last night. At the close of 1916 France surrendered. The line was drawn at Paris with the Germans east of the city. The map that shows controlled territory still shows a German flag on Paris. Not sure what all this means. It still shows that I can move across the border. Not sure of the ramifications of that. Engalnd surrendered the first turn of 1917. America has still not entered the war. Italy entered over a year ago but has not operated offensively yet. Romania entered mid 1916, lined the border with Austria with troops, left Bucharest and the port city undefended for the Bulgarians to waltz into. Questionable AI defense of Romania with Romanian corps. Russia is wavering, getting hammered on the east front by Austria and Germany, yet they still have sent about 8 corps to Romania AFTER Romania left their back door open. Germany also attacked Netherlands after Britain and France surrendered and USA still didnt enter war. German, AUstrian and Turkish fleets operating unopposed except for Italians. Not Raiding anymore, just patrolling and shipping. Would like to see more explanation of the affects of surrender and the setting of the new border.

Almost finished with my first beta6, I'm the CP and France sure seemed to be a hard nut to crack, I had occupied over half the country all cities except

Brest, Cherbourg, Bordeaux, Toulouse, (Toulon/Marseille) and Paris. This lasted for 2-3 strategic turns. Only on the 4th strategic turn when I finally took Paris did they finally throw in the towel.
