Matrix goofed up a bit a release or two recently in its haste to satisfy the howling masses. Please, take all necessary and sufficient time, dot all your i's and cross all your t's, before releasing this thing. I can wait as long as it takes.

AZ Gung Ho, you may be the BIG winner!
But, if it goes past  Oct 31st, the next date is Nov. 5, from yours truly!!!

Oh, i'm still awaiting for everyone's entrance money for the contest also.  :)

Hey General,

Well we'll see won't we - not that it matters all that much right now. They waited too long - darn it! I found out today I'll have to shell out $1000 to get my truck fixed - so no new games for me for a while!

Rats!

Ah, what great timing. I just ordered myself a new Asus notebook to allow me to play all these fabulous wargames from Matrix Games on the comfort of my bed, living room couch, or favorite bar. Nothing like bellying up to the bar for a cold Leffe on tap, setting the laptop on the bar, and enjoying a few turns of the Matrix game du jour.

Should be arriving on Friday, just in time for the Battleground series!

Well, I know I'm going to take some flak for this since folks were hoping for a release today or tomorrow, but I'm letting you know as soon as I do. It looks like we won't be ready with the first BG bundle until Friday and given that we have a rule about not releasing on Fridays, that means we'll hold it for one last test over the weekend and release it on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

The Napoleonic one is also still a bit behind the Civil War one, so ideally I'd like to release those together so that you all can take advantage of the full discount. That may mean a Tuesday release.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks for the update Erik - no flak here - even if I did miss the release date in the contest! I'm happy you are doing what you can to make it a quality product - in the end that's what counts!

To everyone at Matrix: Keep up the good work!

Erik,

I think you should take an extra day to make sure everything is correct before you release, which would mean a Wednesday, Nov. 7 release date.

The fact that I would win the release pool for selecting that date, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with my reccomendation.

Just a quick Monday update. BGCW is indeed ready to go and we're just finishing up the last things on BGNW, which should be ready tomorrow or Wednesday morning. However, another release is now ready to go, so that one will likely take the Tuesday slot, giving us a Wednesday or Thursday release for the BG bundles depending on how long the final store setup and testing for the combo discount takes. I don't think there's any realistic chance of it sliding beyond that at this point.

Ah ha! Wonder what's up for tomorrow? Hmmmm.

So I'll be out of town when this baby comes out - hopefully I'll have broadband at the hotel, otherwise I'll be cut off!

New to these forums...

Can't wait myself...

I would prefer and wait until they are ready to be released, rather than a half-baked product.
