i know that few(if any) people have ever succeeded in even landing on the west coast, but my chioef of staff and i have come up with a very deadly plan, hopefully, we shall be the first to defeat the USA outright, alot of the operation was thought out by my COS

Denn has decided to protect Kunming rather than Ghungking, he had a large force at the crossroads south of Chungking, but it was forced back, hes having it retreat further west apparently

recon says theres 98000 chinese at Chungking

i am very tempted to march north

but, id be leaving my flank open, hmm...

so i spose i shall head west for kunming, then, i believe ill have an excellent airbase

Ladies and or Gentlemen i present the plan to strangle, cut off and defeat China...

Operation Anaconda

Thoese bases marked in red indicate air bases that i am endeavoring to bring online, those in blue indicate air bases already operating

Ground operations foresee a drive against Kweiyang, followed by Kunming, with continuous air operations by as many aircraft that can be mustered

Operation North Wind is well into planning, and forces are begginning to arrive

however, this is NOT repeat NOT an operation against the Soviet Union, as its unneccessary

it has multiple purposes

1. to land in borneo
2. distract denn
3. draw those B17s he has into the SRA into an air fight and destroy them as they will no doubt attack the oil once im ashore
4. confuse denn as to my real intentions
5. the very name north wind will make him think the invasion force at osaka, which has probably been spotted by now due to all his subs, is heading for russia

ok, major flaws in your plan:

Why attack the SRA as the war will be over in 3 months anyway, the allied forces in the SRA will make no difference anyway and wil anly COST you supplies/troops ?

Den is not crazy, you will know that you do not NEED a 300-400+ ship invasion fleet to transport some troops to Manchuco ?

How will your opponent know of your "northern wind" plan?, you will tell him?.

Even if he does think that you will invade russia, there is nothing he can do to prevent this, the Raison d'�tre of a diversion is to DISTRACT enemy troops from your intended target to a fake one....

If you want to make a fiend, send your ships south, then swing back east mid pacific and hope they are not spotted by his subs.

Even sending a fake (empty) transport fleet to hawai or even canada while your main fleets slips through behind it would do a better job of spreading Dens attacks and troops away from your main target.

2. not neccessarily an invasion fleet, for all he knows it could be my shipping hub
3. it could be a flank invasion of USSR

You are NOT going to prep for the USA ???.

Then: YOU WILL FAIL.

Your troops are going to fight strong, fully supplied and extremely well dug in forces in a CITY HEX (most likely they WILL be prepped), without prepping, you will simply dont have a chance of rooting them out fast enough to take the USA. If you want to take the USA you must do it quickly.

US troops are NOT weak, badly led and supplied chinese troops, which you can steamroll out of their city hexes.

I hope you KNOW about the rule that will IMMEDIATELY provide the USA with ALL the troops it would get within 180 days once you cross a certain border ?.

You must realise that you will take significant troop/shipping losses once your aproach to the US coast is detected and airstrikes by B25-B26's and B17's/24's at 3000 feet come pouring in? Even if you manage to cover all your ships with the KB's uber CAP, you will slowly take zero attrition to the point that there simply will no longer be enough of them to provide effective cover. The nearest supply base where you can pick up new ones is what? johnston island ?

Once your carriers have depleted their zero's, the invasion fleet will be bombed to pieces offshore. To provide aircover you must take an airbase quickly enough for you to provide CAP for the fleet. Problem, how to GET planes to that location?. If you ship them in, it will take forever for them to assemble, and the allies will bomb your AF to bits befor you even repair a single fighter. if you use a CV to transport them, it will give you even LESS aircover in the initial aproach and landing.

Your only chance will be to surprise the US with the KB and destroy a lot of planes on the ground befor they can attack your invasion fleet. Downside to this approach is that the KB will be almost out of fuel once you get there, so you will have to take a long supply train with you to refuell the KB (more ships equalls more chance of being detected)

The more chance you have of being detected, the smaller the chance for you to pull of a complete surprise.

If the remaining US CV's are near the west coast once you arrive and they knock out even 1-2 of your CV's then it's definitely game over...

You would have my deepest respect if you could pull this one off, but I think it will just provide us with 3-4 weeks of (highly exiting) AAR based on the MAD principle..

once san diego, seattle and the United states hex falls, americas defeat will be inevtitable

capturing the US hex will be easy, holding it harder, and seattle and san diego shouldnt be too hard either, by nature of the ENORMOUS support im dedicating to this operation

im literally sending almost every AP in the IJN, and as many big divs as i can, not to mention engineers and base support plus planes, ships, submarines

all the carriers, battleships, I-boats

hell be outnumbered in ships some 10 to 1 at least

and ill have vastly superior planes and hundreds of thousands of supplies and fuel

and my zero production is 200 +, bettys at nearly 100

judging by denns deployment of bombers, hell send everything he has to attack, which is where san diego comes in

no more san diego, no more bombers for denn

no more US hex, no more supplies, fuel

once seattle falls, hell be in a crossfire like he is in china

hell have no chance

I think you are doomed before you start. If you go after mainland US. Way too many units show up almost full strength and 100% prepped for the city they arrive in. Way, Way too many air units will appear and make a hash of your shipping. All it takes is a few lucky hits on your CV's and they have a real long way to go to a safe port.

You have roughly a month sailing time to get to the US from Japan. Because your slowest ships will be doing 8 knots or so from system damage by the time they get there. If I was the Allied player, you would find alot of airpower in the US, my CV's would be lurking near Alaska waiting to pounce and destroy anything that starts limping home. By now, the Allied player should have Catalinas on every rock island around. Going to be real hard to sneak up on him. Granted, I never leave the US unguarded until late 42. Until then, there is a slew of troops and aircraft on the West Coast. All prepping and awaiting shipping.

You really need to clear out the DEI and then move to the West Coast.......by then, his CV's will be forward deployed along with alot of his troops and airpower.

im not so sure, ive got some 400000 troops committed, a well thought out plan, all available carriers (theyre doing quite well) im determined to succeed at any costs, and i have superior ships planes and troops

itll be costly but i believe it can succeed

The China Situation

Blue indicates airbases fully operational and operating bombers
Green indicates the fighter field at Nanning, which will become a larger base
White indicates airbases which will be fully operational within a few weeks
Red indicates Kweiyang, which i intend to drive on and secure as a forward air base

However in other news on the China front, Ichang is now fully operational as an airbase and hosts a number of bombers transferred from Nanchang, hence Nanchang shall most likely no longer serve as a forward air base for the CEF Air Force

The next phase of Operation Anaconda involves taking Kweiyang and Kunming thru siege warfare and heavy, and daily bombing of industrial and strategic targets in China, at Chungking, Chegtu, and Kunming
