I'm playing RHS EOS version 7.7851 Japan side. On 12/10/41, I want to bombard some allied bases with my artillery units but it's impossible because the button "bombard" stays in grey. The artillery of my infantry units can bombard normally.

It concerns for the moment:
IJA 5th Curved Gun Battalion at Khota Baru,
IJA 3th Curved Gun Battalion at Alor Star
IJA 13th Curved Gun Battalion at Hong Kong.

What's wrong, can somebody help me please

It must be related to 81mm mortar.

It range is 3 k yard. Not enough to bombard.

Actually - 3 is the minimum range to bombard. Before this release - because of a similar question about 150 mm mortars -- I tested 81 mm, 90 mm, 15 cm and 32 cm mortars - all at Hong Kong - and all work.

There are lots of "tests" in WITP - it is a surprisingly sophisticated system - and one of them is failing.

Note you can NEVER bombard UNLESS an enemy UNIT is present in the hex. There are probably other tests.

I assure you - all the WEAPON tests will pass - but I don't know what all the UNIT tests are?

I don't think you can bombard an enemy base in which there are no units present, and I never tired to test that.

To be clear: I'm assaulting these bases with either infantry units and artillery units. The guns of the infantry units can bombard but not those of the artillery units.

Does it mean artillery units can only defend (perhaps) in RHS ?

It does not mean that. I have games running in different machines all the time. This problem may present itself in some game at some time - but it isn't the normal situation. It may be related to supplies or some other test. Or to corrupted files. If need be I can look into this - but having just tested it - I assure you - the files work at source.

We appear to have prooven that this is a bogus problem: one person with it was able to get it working by a reinstall. That combines with my test of all similar devices at source - and they work. IF you have the right files and a uncorrupted install - these devices do work.
