Hello,
I just bought this game, I like the possibilities offered by the Editor,
but, I have a few questions: Is it possible to add new terrain types (new landscape type)?
9 types of terrain it is really little ....
regarding the editor, the manual is quite incomplete ... Is there a more complete explanation of the editor?
Sorry for my english, i speak french...

Oui, c'est possible!

As far as I can tell you can add new terrain and if you really want to change everything start by building a completely new masterfile--the manual explains some of this.

I've already spent quite a bit of time in the editor and am impressed with how powerful this thing is. There seems to be very little that cannot be changed.

And yes, the manual is very incomplete when it comes to the editor. I am learning through experimentation.

In fact, this editor can do so much it makes me wonder why some of the scenarios that shipped with the game do so little. Some of the scenarios are just plain lazy considering what this thing can do (luckily perhaps they spent more time on making sure everything worked rather than jazzing up the scenarios). That being said, if the modding/scenario design community can get a reasonable grasp on the editor I hope to see some decent results.

I don't have program open at the moment but if I recall you should click on the "Settings" option at the top of the editor screen, one option says "New" and you can start everything from scratch, but you might want to play around with the existing masterfile first to get familiar with the mechanics of everything. The other option says "Master" and this allows you set which masterfile your scenario will read from. Be sure to read the manual before making alterations as you do not want to change something that might affect other scenarios--probably just a matter of renaming files.

You will know if you can make these alterations by checking to see if you can do something simple like rename terrain or subformations. It took me about 15 minutes before I figured out how to rename "Fighter" to "Fighter Plane" because of this whole masterfile thing.

Good luck.
