This must have already been argued about but:

Why is Finland not Axis in the '42 & '43 scenarios?

While I was tempted to do that when I made those scenarios, I chose not to because I assumed that Germany never conquered then later lost Leningrad. In the earlier scenarios it's the conquest of Leningrad, and if necessary Karelia for the second attempt that usually triggers Finland to go full Axis. So in the event that Germany fails to reach them goals, Finland usually stays Pro-Axis. For the 42 and 43 scenarios it's assumed Germany never took Leningrad.

Hmmm.....thanks for the reply (really) but we cannot asume that this event was the result of a game mechanic, can we?  In these scenarios, Germany needs all the help it can get..............if makes it more fun if they have even a glimmer of hope to win..........and hence more game play.

There isn't any diplomatic event to trigger an East versus West scenario either............it's just for fun.....................lighten up! : )
