I'm sure this has been addressed already.
Is there a listing of the upgrades for the different classes of Japanese ships, dates and what they get?
Thank you.

depends on the mod/scen you play.

I'd suggest you use witpload on the scenario you want to play or the database editor.

Just use the ship database in the game (the fourth button from the left on top of the main map).

The manual states that Chitose/Chiyoda can upgrade to CVL if they simply sit in the Osaka port after 12/31/42 (same with 2 BB float plane upper), but I've seen at least one post which states the real date is 1/1/42, and that you have to disband them in Osaka. Which is it? And are the conversion days as stated in the manual (180 for CVL, 330 for BBs)?

contrary to popular belief conversions are always done on the LAST day of the month, starting with 12/31/42, then 01/31/43... 02/28/43 etc,
delay for BBs is 180, for the CVLs its 330 days (the manual is wrong on this)

And there is Woos's Utility as well which gives upgrade info

Note that it will not give any info on the CS->CVL and BB->CV upgrades as those are AFAIK hardcoded and not in the database. Only on normal ship upgrades.

WITPDecoder is quite easy to install.

1. get witpdecoder,
unzip into a new folder under your WITP save directory.
My path is c:\matrix games\war in the pacific\save\pbem

2. inside here will be a folder called cluster definitions, take the appropriate 2 files, cluters.csv and clusterbases.csv and copy (don't cut) then into the root folder ... for me it's - the pbem folder. I use the 192 scenario for BB1.4(but I've adapted it)

3. edit witpdecoder.bat mine looks like this ... (ive changed the password!-so it's not my pbem pword) ---> damian
echo off
REM java -Djava.library.path=%CD% -jar witpdecoder2.jar PasswordHere
java -Djava.library.path=. -jar witpdecoder2.jar damian

4. after this run it and follow the instructions ...

Also I can also tell you how to improve the cluster files if you want...

My Access DB add-on for WITPDecoder can be seen here :-

Maybe I'll try WITP decoder again. The first time I tried it I couldn't get it to work.
Thanks
