ORIGINAL: Missouri_Rebel Many of Y'all might already be aware of the Library of Congress online maps, but I will put this up for those that don't. There are many maps, in the thousands I believe, that can be viewed. Scrolling the maps from the site is rather clunky so I prefer to download them. You must have a viewer that will allow .JP2 extensions. These are actual maps scanned(excellent quality) and when viewed with an appropriate viewer can be zoomed in to show in great detail. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/civil_war_maps/index.html Enjoy Mo Reb Thanks immensely for this link. It actually supplements a link I have been using for verification of Historical RR lines that existed during the Civil War. The Southern States maps of this link (Lloyds in particular) have each year, whereas the link I was using, only had the 1862 maps. This allows me to determine when the Rail line was actually built "during" the Civil War. This is helpful information needed for map work I am doing for AGEod's ACW. Recently, I had a chance to visit Shiloh Battlefield. While there I was browsing for more maps and ran across a fabulous book replete with 303 Civil War Battlefield Summaries and over 100 topographical maps. Perfect for reproducing individual battlefield scenarios. At the time, I was looking for RR maps within the books, but when I saw this book, "The Civil War Battlefield Guide", I had to have it, thinking back to FoF and their tactical battlefield ideas. It also contains information about the current condition of these various Civil War battlefields and where they are located. A must have, if you like touring Civil War Battlefields. By the way, if you visit any of these Battlefields, ask for the CD audio tour. Other than an actual guide which most Battlefields do not provide, they are the best way to tour the battlefields. Here's an amazon link to the book I found to post here: http://www.amazon.com/Civil-War-Battlefield-Guide-Second/dp/0395740126/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1195552390&sr=1-1 Regards Gray_Lensman
