The battle for the town of Urnabia

Armys force selection

Light , fast moving teams with a couple of big guns as backup.

I reinforced the village and sent four teams racing to the SW corner behind the ridge , hoping to quickly outflank my opponent.

2 Bradleys and 2 infantry squads moved off.

First Bradley has a clear run until faced with a Stryker.

Meanwhile Op Forces are spotted advancing North of the River making for the bridge.

A lone Javelin team supported by grenades from a Mk19 takes care of the threat as they make their rears prime targets.

My Bradleys flush out an OpFor Abrams and they attack it from front and back.... kaboom!

As my infantry move into the town I bring up armoured support.... but getting too cocky sees my abrams go down. Continued grenade bombardment suppresses the OpFor infantry... just enough.

Relentless pressure sees the OpFor take too many casualties.

The wash up

That was a fun fight. I had no idea where he was deployed, and ended up assuming he had nothing north of the river. Bad idea!

With my mobile element destroyed, I ended up bunkering down and menouvering my javelin team around to take pot shots at passing vehicles. Looking at the casualty reports, I thought I caused a lot more casualties than I did. Still, I held my ground, which avoided a major loss.
