Wasn't "Brady and the midgets" the name of his rock band?

Given the game's scale (in both time and distance), reducing "midget subs" to a kind of long-ranged torpedo makes loads of sense. Their effectiveness in action and influence on the outcome can only be described as miniscule. Do you really want to deal with that much more complexity for virtually no result? This was one point in which I think the designers made a good and rational decision.

My appologies..., as you might have gathered from the other posts in response, this is a "touchy" subject. Currently they are not---but you can always "hope" for a while that the nebulous "coming announcement" in December might include them. It's generated speculation about everything else...

no worries Mike. Never played the Jap in this game, just casually gone over the ooB, and as i was reading a bit more widely into the history of the campaign, and considering their use by the japanese the question was more an out loud thought, thanks for your responses though

Only in reference to the "Dwarf Tossing" so popular in Australian Pubs. Go back to sleep, Eric.

I think now-a-days we're supposed refer to them as "subarmines of dimminutive size".

"Vertically Challenged Submersive Boats"... "Diminutive" is not very PC.

Well, I found something stuck in the mud here, at Pearl.

Musta been my imagination. Or an FDR plot.

I did see something a few months ago that analysis of some pictures taken during the Pearl Harbor attack may show a VCSB firing a torpedo at one of the battleships.  The picture was inconclusive though.

Wouldn't a better euphamism be Dimensionally Challenged Submarine (DCS)?

I could just see the howls on the forum if the only change in the big announcement is that midget subs are now included in the game.

Bill
