Any chance that this can be included in a future patch? after all big wide screen LCD monitors are increasingly popular, and on most of those monitors if you try to use any non-native resolution you'll run into the "not so beautiful" realm of (bad) stretched bitmaps.

As it stands now a large part of my big game window is empty space, with the game map and controls confined in the corner.

I know, the game is old (I still have the last talonsoft version of it stashed somewhere) and showing it's age, but with all those big scenarios to play it's a loss that we can't see more of the map in our screen now that the hardware to accomplish this is cheap enough.

What size screen, specifically?

You should check to make sure you have the most recent video drivers and are running in a maximized window. TOAW III, as did previous versions of TOAW, runs in a window that dynamically adjusts to the desktop resolution. I run a 1680x1050 resolution and there is no stretching, or interpolation.

Same here - no problem. In fact it's beautiful!

I run a widescreen monitor, as well, 1440x900, and my screen looks great, too.

To answer the first question, my primary monitor has a resolution of 1680x1050.

I'm using the latest video driver for my card (radeon x1900 xt), and I'm not complaining about stretching or interpolation, in fact it don't happen.

What happen is that the game is limited to some other resolution, I believe 1024x768.

maybe this screen shot can show things better.

The game window maximizes until it fill the whole monitor, but the actual game play area is limited in a 1024x768 area inside the game window.

The black area at the right is my other monitor, empty at the time of the shot.

Odd, mine, on a wide screen, as mentioned, fills up the whoel screen with playing area. That's a strange situation.

What OS are you using and what are the two new buttons in the upper right corner of the window for? Did you try clicking on each of them? Am I to understand that you are using two monitors, side by side? You should check your video card display properties for clues as to why it is displaying this as it is. Widescreen is supported, but multi-screen support is not fully implemented. Try sending your desktop to only one of your two monitors, and run that window maximized. Let us know if this helps.

Thanks for your time and input, knowing that this isn't the expected behaviour lead me to find the problem, I'm using windows XP 64 instead of plain windows XP, and testing it in another environment showed me that TOAWIII don't work as flawless as I was thinking in XP 64, there's this strange window behavior.

I'll poke it around and see if I can get it to work in XP64 as it does in XP32, but for now I'll be playing it im my virtualized XP32, works as intended there.
