Heh... The price is Matrix's thing, and they're not going to finally decide on it for a while yet.

Who cares?!!?

My $/min rate at WitP is more like Pesos/min I have played it for so long.

I am not a betting man, but if I were, I would say Adm ed. is going to be about the same exchange rate for me.

I really hope Matrix gives some sort of pacakge deal that would give a price break if new customers ordered both WITP and AE at the same time in a sort of package. That way the game wouldnt only sell to those who already have WITP they would have a chance to continue to grow the community.

I would rather get a discount IF WITP2 ever comes out.

If I pay more can I get it sooner? How much of a bribe will it take to get a beta copy?

I suppose, in real world dollars, theoretically you could buy a beta copy...theoretically - but your name isn't Rockefeller or Gates is it?

Seriously, there is probably many of us that would buy a Beta say at half the estimated time. This wouldn't be a bad idea to have a scad of testers put it through its paces to flush out bugs that a normal test crew misses. We all know when it does get released that there will be a list as long as your arm to correct. Then the folks will start complaining about a shoddy product. If the same folks knew it was a Beta it might stem some of that criticism.

Having said that there would still be those who would know full well it was a Beta and still complain like hell.

Look at it this way. Even if it cost the same as the original, when you adjust for inflation, it's really cheaper than the original.  I've been playing for 4 years stright. Have you ever spent 70 bucks on anything that you used everyday for four years stright (wifes not included)?

It's going to cost me a couple of hunderd as I need to upgrade my computer to meet the 'recommended' specs.  Well, I've been wanting to upgrade for quite a while anyway, so now is a good time to scrape the bucks together to do so.  Funny thing is, I had to upgrade to get WITP in the first place.

I don't think cost is much of an issue, not unless Matrix tries to set a new world record on the cost of an expansion pack.

I have upgraded at least 7 times and everytime it was because a of a game. Last one was World of Warcraft. Had to get a new maching with 2 gig of RAM.

In all seriousness folks, worrying about the cost is premature. We haven't made a decision on the price yet, but it's safe to say that it won't cost more than WITP.

Sounds like one poster who is always offering his criticism but admits has never owned the game...

I haven't felt the cost of the game was out of line since the day I purchased it, the first couple of days it was available.   Until WITP (after PacWar), I had followed the development of a game call Pacific Tide for a couple of years that finally was discontinued because of the complexity and short funding.  I was so happy when WITP came out I would have paid double the price.  It was one hell of an investment and I think that AE and WITP II (if and when) will give the same bang for the buck.

My best bet is that would cost 50$.

So... with 70$ for WitP + 50$ for WitP AE one would get 120$ (and that's just about 60+ Euros) game that lasts for years and years!

IMHO there is almost nothing else on the wargamegame market (except for a some other Matrix release like HttR, CotA, GGWaW) that can and would compare to it - just count all the minutes/hours/days/weeks/months/years of fun we had with WitP until now (not to mention UV)!

I'd pay (and i WILL pay) everything it's needed to bring home that product!

Well, even if it cost 100 euros...just try to compare...how many dinners in restaurants you pay with 100 euros?? 2, possibly 3...not more...How many sweaters do you buy with 100 euros? not many for sure, even if you buy 'em on the sunday markets... So eat less, dress your old sweaters from the high school and buy witpAE!

Well, I'm going to buy a copy of WITP as well as AE, seeing as I have been running a devteam download version. Always wanted an official copy and the new expansion pack effort has sealed the deal. Thanks for all the continuing effort guys.

Now look who's drooling.

Matrix should seriously consider flanboys' package deal (see above) for new customers; it makes good business sense.
