Unless I am missing something this has total fog of war correct? In the boardgame counter sheets were open to all so you could see who was where with which troops. You could also see what builds a nation had coming in for reinforcements. I have clicked on several countries and only seem to be able to get my own. Am I missing something?

If you played the board game like that, then you were playing incorectly.  For the board game, all forces, economic sheets and reinforcements are kept secret.  Only fleet strength had to be revealed.

It would be nice to make fog of war optional.

Suvorov928.....

Your wrong in the board game you can always know how and the number of witch factor are in fleet and corps of all your ennemis, but in the maps you could not know witch corps is ..... if in the stack with a leader the number of the corps ....you could only know if it was a infantry corps or cavalary corps.

Were i think your right, Yes all reinforcement and économic (Execept boat) was secret but not the force in presence ( in your national sheet in the bord game), And as i could see in AAR, i think that the Pc game developper have made this part differently, that you could always see witch corps is were for all nation but not the factor in. in my sense its differrent of the board game but not stupid this just the inverse.....probably for simplicity...and that keeep a part revealed and a part secret and that good enough.....maybe a game developer could confirn or infirm what i said.

From the manual:

2.4.2 USING THE NATIONAL CARDS: The maximum strengths of corps and fleets are shown on the appropriate National Cards (one card per major power, and one for all of the minor countries). The corps and fleet counters when face-up on the map only show their general type and movement allowance. Which corps each counter represents is shown on the back of the counter and may be examined by only the owning player, except when its identity must be revealed to other players (e.g., during a combat-see 7.5.2.6.3). The designation of each fleet (and its movement allowance) is shown on the front of the counter and so its designation and exact strength should always be known to all players.
As you can see, the rules specifically state that only fleet designations and  strengths are known at all times.  Actual Corps designations and strengths are only known at time of combat.

Yes i don't know if i explain it bad but that what i mean and the rule you edit here is right, but for national card of each nation is always reveal, but not the corps counter on the map except when a battle ocur as the the rule said.

I think what Nick is saying is that the large sheets where your corp strengths were kept were visible to all but only the player knew which corp was which on the map.  Other players could only know the type of corp by looking at the top face of the corp markers.
