Is anyone else getting antivirus warning messages from their email programs (especially Yahoo, it seems) when emailing PBEM save files back and forth? Could it be due to the encrypted anti-cheat format of the save files? I've scanned my system top to bottom with two different AV programs and it's come up perfectly clean each time, but when I send out my scenario so others can test it, they seem to get (non-specific) virus warnings where none exists.

I haven't received any warnings about them, but the Yahoo virus scanner does not scan them, either. At least, for me, it never does. Neither incoming, nor outgoing, each time it does not scan them.

Ok - so how did you get yours to say that? I swtched from yahoo mail new - to classic yahoo mail, and I get the message that file wasn't scanned because scanner was unavailable. But I'd hate to have to switch back to that for each turn.

I've sent Yahoo support an email as well.

Thanks
Rick

Well... until you mentioned switching to "Classic Mail" I didn't know there was any difference. My ISP, Rogers.com, has an agreement with Yahoo where Yahoo supplies the web based e-mail for my account. I just noticed that at teh top of my web mail page it says "Rogers|Yahoo Classic Mail". I guess it's always been there just didn't pay attention cause it ment nothing to me.

Other than that I can't help....

Well, as I expected, Yahoo mail support wasn't any help. They basicly said the reason they block the file is because it has a virus and that I should update my virus software, because they use the latest.

I was a little irritated since I explained that the file didn't have a virus.

But, not an unexpected response.

Sounds like I will have to find another email, or switch back to yahoo classic.

If anyone reading this thread is using the new Yahoo mail, and are able to send pt2 files in mail, please let me know.

Thanks
Rick
