I know Politics in Flames rules won't be in the MWIF but I was wondering if many poeple play with this set of rules. Our group vote this option in every game and along with the oil rules don't see how the game would be any fun without them. Of course we play with 6.0 rules set as well. Mainly because we printed that set of rules up at kinkos in nice spiral bound books with different covers and all the options we like to play already typeset in the appropriate places with the covers the color of the nation that player is playing. (Perhaps we went a little overboard) Still the politics in flames optional rule (forgot where it came out in think it was an annual) adds a lot to the game especially if you play the optional rule that Germany doesn't have to attack poland first just a neighbor on the 1st impulse. This mostly means France gets DOW on. The best we have had was France fall in Nov/Dec. Anyway everyones thoughts on these rules if they have any.

Never played it, actually. Nothing to say as a result. Would like to try it at some point.

I would really like to see a combination of DoD2 and a way, a la Politics in Flames, to continue to see changes to minor country status during the war. The perception of those changes sure drove Hitler's thinking to quite a degree.

Better to have DOD 3 implemented instead. Thus I hope in a future release!

I would just like to voice my support for an implementation of DOD.  I realize it will have to be another product beyond WIF.

This game was great fun.  We used to use it as a precursor to or WIF games.  It made for some very interesting starts to the general war.

If you decide to produce such a product, I heartily suggest that it be able to run both as a stand-alone game and as integrated into WIF proper.

oops, this is what I meant, I still think of DoD as having 2 versions, although # 3 is the current one. Anyway to someday get a whole system that continues after the start of General War would be cool.

I played DoD 1 a lot and always enjoyed it. Haven't dived in since.

DoDIII would be my preference for the political engine. It has a good interface with WiF. If integrated as a MWiF expansion and not as a stand alone game it would narrow and specify the scope. Additionally much of the basic work such as counters, forcepools, maps will already exist in MWiF

The group I'm with plays with Politics in Flames all the time.  It really adds an interesting dimension to the game without being a whole separate game like DoD, although I've never tried DoD.  I'm a little dissapointed that MWiF won't include Politics in Flames as an option, but I'm still impressed at the huge number of options they ARE including.

Welcome to the forum. It seems like you have found your way around somewhat already, but if you have questions, just ask. I read all the posts, as do many others.
