ORIGINAL: Raverdave One of the things that I hat about CD covers (music CDs) is that they are not as nice to enjoy looking at as the old vinyl record covers....yeah i know call me an old fart, but you have to admitt that there is some truth to it. Has litte to do with the subject, but what the heck. I feel the same way and am also an old fart! CD's just aren't collectible in the same way. Billion Dollar Babies, gatefold with the dollar bill inside. There's nothing to compare on CD. Sometimes the music was incidental to the album itself, it was great to touch, look at and keep. The four Kiss solo albums, complete with interlocking posters (I have Gene Simmons album somewhere) were fantastic. Alive II (their best live album) had some amazing photos inside the gatefold cover. You don't get any of that with a CD. I don't get the same buzz out of sticking a CD in the drive as I used to, gently placing a 12" vinyl record on the turntable. Sigh. Regards, Jim
