Trent, can you give a little more detail. Are you a client or the host? What steps have you taken up to the point you are experiencing this problem and what exactly is the problem? Thanks.

Richard

It's not working because all the players are set to human instead of one being Host and the others Client.

This is correct. The bidding is done by nation not player. First you do Britain, then France etc. So when it gets to Austria Trent is the highest bidder (of people who don't yet have a nation) so he gets that even though his bid for Spain was higher becausethe bidding hasn't got to Spain yet.

It's not logic.

This method give a Nation classification. Why ?
It's work if you considere that all the players want in priority GB, France and Russia. But if you bid (even a lot !) for Turkey/Spain you will not sure to have one of them !!!!! Very curious.

I think that the better way :
The higger of all the bids give the first Nation allocated to the player who give this bid.
After that : consider all others bids (exist this player and this nation bids of course).
...

And so on.

The higger of all remaining bids give the second nation to a second player.

With this system, all players AND all nations have the same chance in the bid.

So get out the pencil and paper and do it your way. When you have your selections made you can manually input them into EiANW, however, if you require existing wars then you will need to plug your bids into the GAP first. Just be careful to manipulate it such that the major power selection matches your method.

Richard

That is the EiA method of selecting Nations. When the game was designed that's how Harry Rowland designed it. It has been ported over to the computer world pretty well by Richard's gap program.

Many things in EiA are not logic.
