Ok it is a rather large 100x100 game with 10 opponents, but prepatch it never counted past around 900 or so steps. Right now post patch Im at 1700 and counting. I won't even post how long thats actually taken so as not to scare people.

Is the AI improved enough that turns would take double the normal steps or more?

Before the patch, in some solo games of Diplomacy, it would go into some sort of infinite loop, and start rattling off steps up into the thousands. This was usually caused when alt-tabbing between AT and other apps, while waiting for the AI turns to execute. One time, I came back into the game and found that it was already over 4000 steps and still counting them off on a 1-2 step per second basis...

I haven't had much time yet to check out the new patch, since I just downloaded it yesterday. Some minor issues I've posted in another thread.

Ok I gave up and redid it all. But the same thing is happening. Actually though an exception error popped up around step 86. I believe this happened the first time through as well and I just clicked continue. I've gotten these in game pre-patch when working with transports mostly and that always allowed the game to continue but I can see of course where maybe this puts the AI into some sort of infinite loop.

I've attached a screenshot..

Sorry there. Maybe is should get more people into the private testing group to avoid these errors in public beta testing.

I'll try to catch it.

If you could send a savefile to vic@xs4all.nl it would be much appreciated.

kind regards,
Vic

I mentioned pre-patch in the first post but didn't explicitely state that I started the game pre-patch.

I don't know how much that has to do with this bug or not, but it would be nice if patching wouldn't affect existing games.

Though I don't think I'd ever personally list it as an absolute requirement.

PS. I sent you the savedgame file via email.

@Anyone with a similar issue... I received a hotfix in under an hour that fixed my issue.

Am now back to happily playing my monster AI game!
